PETERS TOWNSHIP BOARD OF SCHOOL DIRECTORS<br />
SPECIAL MEETING<br />
MONDAY, August <strong>27</strong>, 20<strong>12</strong><br />
6:30 P.M. – DISTRICT ADMINISTRATION OFFICES<br />
CALL TO ORDER: Cynthia Golembiewski, President, called the regular meeting of the <strong>Peters</strong><br />
<strong>Township</strong> Board of <strong>School</strong> Directors to order at 6:32 p.m.<br />
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE<br />
ROLL CALL: Present were: Mrs. Golembiewski, Mr. Merrell, Mr. Dunleavy, Mrs. Gregg,<br />
Mrs. Cuervo, Mrs. Smith, Mr. McMurray, Mr. Hvizdos, and Mrs. Erenberg was absent.<br />
Also present were Dr. Nina Zetty, Superintendent, Mr. Vincent Belczyk, Business Manager,<br />
Dr. Patricia Kardambikis, Assistant to the Superintendent for Curriculum, Instruction and<br />
Assessment, Brian Geyer, Athletic Director, Glenn Franceschina, Supervisor Buildings and<br />
Grounds and Nancy McCann, Director of Human Resources.<br />
• Mrs. Golembiewski called an Executive Session at 6:34 p.m. for Personnel issues. The<br />
Board returned at 6:50 p.m.<br />

SUPERINTENDENT’S COMMENTS: None<br />
QUESTIONS AND COMMENTS FROM THE FLOOR (15 minutes)<br />
“Any parent, guardian, resident, or community group shall have the right to present a<br />
request, suggestion, or complaint concerning district personnel, programs, or operations of<br />
the district. At the same time, the Board has a duty to protect its staff from harassment.<br />
Consequently, the board does not and will not condone personal attacks directed toward<br />
district personnel. It is the Board’s intent to provide a fair and impartial manner for<br />
seeking appropriate remedies.<br />
Any suggestions or complaints directed to individual Board members and/or the Board<br />
shall be referred to the superintendent and/or appropriate administrator for consideration<br />
and action. Personnel complaints directed toward an individual(s) are not subject for<br />
discussion or review at a public meeting of the Board of <strong>School</strong> Directors.”<br />
(<strong>Peters</strong> <strong>Township</strong> <strong>School</strong> <strong>District</strong> Policy 13<strong>12</strong><br />
• Rebecca Bowman, 114 Aston Court, addressed the Board regarding funding for the<br />
outdoor basketball courts and it did not appear on the agenda.<br />
• Mrs. Cuervo stated that this will be discussed at the Buildings and Grounds Committee<br />
meeting immediately following the special board meeting.<br />

RECOMMENDATION: Consider a motion to approve Certificated Personnel<br />
recommendations as follows:<br />
1. Approve the following day-to-day substitutes for an extended period of time (attachments):<br />

RECOMMENDATION: Consider a motion to approve Non-Certificated Personnel<br />
recommendations as follows:<br />

Effective: August 24, 20<strong>12</strong><br />
2. Approve the following day-to-day non teaching substitutes for the 20<strong>12</strong>-13 school year<br />
pending receipt of all compliance documents. Employees will not begin work within or for<br />
the <strong>District</strong> until documents are on file, except in special circumstances approved by the<br />
Superintendent:<br />
1. Striebich, Carol – Bus Aide<br />

QUESTION AND ANSWER PERIOD ON AGENDA ITEMS (15 minutes)<br />
• Robert DiCello, 118 Broadhead Trail, Anna Carpenter 491Sylvania, Drive, Alex Luketich,<br />
104 Waterside Drive, Kelsey Kern 301 Village Green Drive, stated they are four Thespian<br />
officers and would like to thank the Board for finding a replacement director for the Fall<br />
and Spring musical. They also asked if the Fall play has been approved.<br />

• Dr. Zetty stated this does not come to the Board for approval and Mrs. Pavlik has not<br />
submitted anything to the Superintendent’s office. Dr. Zetty suggested that they speak to<br />
Mrs. Pavlik.<br />
