Definition: The simultaneous contacting of maxillary and mandibular teeth on right and left and in the posterior and anterior occlusal areas in centric and eccentric positions. Significance:Normal individual makes masticatory tooth contact only for 10 mins in one day compared to 4hrs of total tooth contact during other functions.
