Gary Lung<br />

I have been involved in the equestrian industry for over 20 years throughout Australia, New<br />

Zealand and Papua New Guinea.<br />

As a young rider, I was involved in Pony Club, Show Horse, Dressage, Steeple chase racing, Show<br />

Jumping, Racing, Eventing, Polocrosse and Polo.<br />

As an adult, I have found my passion in Dressage. I am an EFA NCAS coach teaching locally and<br />

throughout north <strong>Queensland</strong>. I also compete at all the major dressage competitions throughout<br />

Australia.<br />

I work in the corporate industry as a Learning and Development Manager where I have developed<br />

skills in strategic planning, project and risk management and operational management.<br />

I have been on the Festival of Dressage committee from when it first started back in 2007 up to<br />

2010 and then on the Dressage Qld Sub Committee from 2010 up to 2013. I have seen first hand<br />

how, a clear vision, well planned process and a hard working and well managed team can assist in<br />

lifting the profile of Dressage.<br />

My goals are to assist in further developing, actively promoting and maintaining the Dressage<br />

discipline in <strong>Queensland</strong>. I feel confidently that my experiences and skills from the corporate<br />

industry and committee work I can contribute to this goal. What a better way to be part of this<br />

growing sport by being on the Dressage Committee.<br />

Janine Dwyer<br />

I have been an equine veterinarian for 20 years this year, practising primarily between Brisbane<br />

and the Gold Coast, including surrounding areas. I am interested in all aspects of the horse<br />

industry including Show Horse. My contribution to the Show Horse Council would be as a<br />

veterinarian, providing advice regarding welfare of the horse, advice regarding preventative<br />

medicine and biosecurity and education of competitors and connections.<br />

I have been an FEI veterinarian for approximately 15 years to preside over the welfare of horses<br />

at endurance, eventing, show jumping and dressage competitions. I worked for the Hong Kong<br />

Jockey Club in 2008 at the Beijing Paralympics as a treating veterinarian and was appointed the<br />

Australian Dressage and Para <strong>Equestrian</strong> Veterinarian between 2009 and 2012, attending WEG<br />

2010 and London Olympics 2012. I am familiar with competition atmosphere and organisational<br />

challenges and have assisted at many events over a variety of equestrian pursuits in different<br />

roles, as an organiser, a treating vet and as a medication control veterinarian.<br />

I am passionate about horses and have always tried to impart knowledge as I have furthered my<br />

education during my career. I run a two vet equine ambulatory veterinary practice from the<br />

Redlands/Logan area, treating mainly performance, pleasure and pet horses. I own five horses of<br />

different breeds and ages and breed the occasional foal.<br />

I enjoy watching showing and hacking, particularly at the Royal show level and would like to make<br />

a contribution to the industry.<br />

Alexia Fraser<br />

My Name is Alexia Fraser and I have been involved in showing horses both led and ridden in QLD<br />

for many years. I have enjoyed success at both state and National Level with horses such as<br />

Mirinda Celebration, Last Tango, Private Benjamin, Willowcroft Coco Chanel and Willowcroft Miss<br />

Saigon. I also run a small boutique stud Lyndhurst Riding Ponies on QLD’s darling downs where I<br />

focus on breeding quality Ponies, Hacks & Galloways. I would like to offer my knowledge and<br />

experience to EA Show horse committee. In conjunction with other committee members I’d like<br />

to work together to promote showing and encourage the involvement of the younger generation.<br />

Julie Mitchell<br />

Both my parents were successful and well known around the show circuit in Victoria in the 50’s . I<br />

in turn have been riding and competing since I was 18 months old.<br />

Over the years I have bred, raced and syndicated thoroughbreds and bred and shown many<br />

pony’s and galloways . I have competed successfully at Agricultural Shows Royal Show shows and<br />

HOTY’s.<br />

I was also one of the first registered lady jockey’s to ride in races with the VRC.<br />

Residing now in Brisbane, I compete with several horses and successfully compete in both shows<br />

and dressage but predominantly shows.<br />

I am currently on the judges list and have judged at many shows including The Royal Melbourne<br />

show. Hopefully I can bring new ideas to the table and look forward to the challenges of being<br />

involved with the Show horse committee.<br />

Cindy Ross<br />

I have been involved with horses for around 45 years and showing for around 30 years. I was<br />

a member of the SHCQ Committee in its early years. I run Banbury Park Stud, a small Riding<br />

Pony and Show Horse stud, north of the Sunshine Coast, with my husband Stuart. I also work<br />

in the family business, D G Westerner, manufacturing jodhpurs. I am a Riding Pony, Show<br />

Horse Council and EA show judge. I pride myself in my honesty and reliability in all aspects of<br />

my life. I am enthusiastic and committed to running competitor friendly shows that welcome<br />

all competitors, the young and not so young, the experienced and less experienced.<br />

In 2012 I was a co-opted member of the EQ Show Horse Committee. During the year I was a<br />

regular attendee at committee meetings and assisted with the operation of all EQ shows. I<br />

now seek election as a Committee member.<br />

Brett Peatey<br />

My name is Brett Peatey and I am a nominee for the <strong>Equestrian</strong> <strong>Queensland</strong> committee.<br />

I have been involved on several committees since 1995, and would like to share my<br />

experience.<br />

I would like to show that I have the success, ability and experience to be nominated for a<br />

position on the <strong>Equestrian</strong> <strong>Queensland</strong> committee.<br />

I currently own and operate A1 Shopfitters & A1 Kitchens for the last 20 years, and in 2010<br />

until 2012 have been the Chair for the Eastern Rd Plaza Body Corporation.<br />

I have also opened, owned and operated other business like my Network video Greenbank<br />

store that I had for 3yrs then sold.<br />

In 1995-1997 Greenbank fishing club Treasurer.<br />

In 2002 I joined the Greenbank Soccer club as a parent helper which by the start of the<br />

season I ended up being the coach of 32 under 5 children and completed my level 2 coaching<br />

certificate and continued to coach till 2008, Over the years I held several positions for the<br />

club as follows.<br />

2003 Registrar<br />

2004-2008 President in this time I was able to bring the club from 65 members to 147<br />

members and a new club house, 4 new shade shelters and all new equipment for the players<br />

and coaches which was funded by memberships and also Weekend canteens and<br />

sponsorships when I resigned .I was also able to turn the club from a negative bank balance<br />

to a very nice positive balance and also happy families and all coaches and helpers with child<br />

safety blue cards.<br />

2008 Treasurer<br />

2003-2007 I was a committee member for the Greenbank sports and recreational club<br />

I then moved on when my family became involved in <strong>Equestrian</strong> Vaulting in 2007. I became<br />

treasurer of Kingfisher Vaulters in 2008 til 2011, and then was elected to President in 2012<br />

and still currently hold this position.

Brett Peatey continued<br />

In 2009 I was elected on the <strong>Equestrian</strong> <strong>Queensland</strong> committee as the Treasurer (Financial<br />

Advisor). I still hold this position and have found it challenging and rewarding and again been able<br />

to turn the committee’s financials around to a very positive balance and also plenty of equipment<br />

to help new clubs start, so as grow <strong>Equestrian</strong> Vaulting Sports. I have also held the position of Chair<br />

from 2010 til 2012. Which at this time I also did the Job of Secretary<br />

I was also the recipient of the <strong>Equestrian</strong> volunteer of the year award in 2010.<br />

I also believe in all committees being up to scratch with rules, guidelines and regulations for the<br />

benefit of all their members and helpers. I am passionate about the sport and can see that my<br />

experience would be a valuable asset to any committee.<br />

Melissa Stone<br />

I have been a member of the Vaulting Committee for the past 12 months and have found it to be a<br />

great way to contribute to the running and success of our sport in <strong>Queensland</strong>.<br />

During the past 12 months I have assisted with the organisation of the QLD State Vaulting<br />

Championships and various other events run by the committee.<br />

I bring to the committee enthusiasm, and a vaulters persective as I am also a competitor. I also<br />

think it is important to have a wide representative from the different clubs in <strong>Queensland</strong> on the<br />

committee.<br />

I look forward to assisting the <strong>Queensland</strong> Vaulting Committee in 2013 and bringing forward new<br />

ideas and helping the sport grow in <strong>Queensland</strong>.<br />

David Waller<br />

My name is David Waller I am 20 years old. I am currently a level one vaulting coach and an official<br />

lunger. I am also on the <strong>Queensland</strong> vaulting committee.<br />

As a member of the <strong>Queensland</strong> committee I helped run a very successful <strong>Queensland</strong> states<br />

championships in 2012.<br />

I have been involved in vaulting for 6 years and I am a member of the Fassifern vaulting team. At<br />

Fassifern I am involved in a canter team, A individual and coaching beginner vaulters.<br />

I currently hold the Australian male champion position and a member of the Australian Champion<br />

team. I have been a member of the Vaulting high performance Squad for 2012 as an individual and<br />

2013 as an individual and team.<br />
