Illness in Dubai with Beat Possible Therapy
Clinic for Health and Medical Care (CHMC) is a German outpatient clinic specialized in psychiatry and psychotherapy.
CHMC is located in Dubai Healthcare City, a center housing clinics providing the highest level of specialized medical
services in the Middle East.
The Medical Director of CHMC is Dr. Gregor Kowal who is a German Board certified Senior Consultant in Psychiatry and
Psychotherapy. He has more than 20 years of expertise as psychiatrist and psychotherapist and several years of
leadership experience as a Head of Department and Medical Director in German hospitals.
Mission: We take an integral approach on psychiatric illnesses focusing on the well-being of our patients. We treat them
with respect, esteem and devotion. Our top priority is to offer the best possible therapy in an intimate atmosphere under
strict observation of medical confidentiality.
Illnesses treated: We treat those psychiatric diseases which can be handled in an outpatient setting. We support our
patients in their life crisis treating depressions, all kinds of anxiety (panic and generalized anxiety disorders), compulsive
disorders, burnouts, sleeplessness, dementias (for example the Alzheimer disease), mania, bipolar disorder, attention
deficit-hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), schizophrenia (and other psychosis), alcohol dependence, personality disorders,
chronic pain, stress related disorders, eating disorders (bulimia and anorexia nervosa)and sexual disorders.
Diagnostic procedures: We offer in-depth psychiatric and psychological evaluation, physical and neurological
examination as well as psychological testing. We provide in our clinic the complex laboratory testing, ECG, EEG, and
through our partners CT, MRl and other imaging procedures.
The treatment in our clinic proceeds in accordance with a holistic and individual patient concept which means
understanding and open-mindedness towards different cultural, religious and personal backgrounds of our patients. The
evaluation process ends with securing the diagnosis and elaborating of a treatment plan. The plan includes
psychopharmacology and/or counseling (psychotherapy) followed by a psychiatric and somatic monitoring. Our patients
are involved in the treatment according to personal and illness related aspects.
Team: Each staff of CHMC is participating in a continuous educational program containing internal training as well as
external conferences and seminars. This ensures a constant improvement of the care quality delivered to the patient.
Standards of Quality: CHMC complies with the rules and regulations created and supervised by Center for Healthcare
Planning and Quality (CPQ) of Dubai Healthcare City which were developed based on the most sophisticated international
standards. Clinic for Health and Medical Care complies with this rules and regulations ensuring the best possible quality of
the services given to the patients.
Our Partners: CHMC is affiliated with two leading hospitals of Dubai: The Mediclinic City Hospital and The American
Hospital which are both accredited by the Joint Commission International (JCI).
The laboratory services are provided by The National Reference Laboratory (NRL) operated by Laboratory Corporation of
America (LabCorp), one of the world’s largest and most experienced clinical laboratory operators. NRL Dubai is CAP
(College of American Pathologists) and ISO 15189 accredited.
Dr. Kowal studied human medicine at the
medical school of the Ruprechts-Karl-
University in Heidelberg (Germany). He
also aquired a doctors degree at the same
university. After his studies he specialised
in the disciplines Psychiatry and
Psychotherapy. He is experienced in all
fields of adult psychiatry and has depth -
psychology based psychotherapeutical
qualification. Over the past five years Dr.
Kowal has worked in Germany as a Senior
Consultant in the function as Head of
Department in clinics for psychiatry and
psychotherapy. In this function he was
responsible for the treatment of patients
and also for the supervision and education
of registrars and psychologists entrusted to
his care. In November 2010 Dr. Kowal
relocated his residence to Dubai (UAE) and
since then directs the Clinic for Health and
Medical Care (CHMC) a Clinic for
Psychiatry and Psychotherapy. The clinic is
located in Dubai Healthcare City (DHCC).
