Radley
Uppingham

Hon. Sec. marches up to final green
Uppingham found the bunker off the 19 th tee and
Radley pulled up just short of the bunker on a tricky
downhill lie. Ball moved the ball just 20 yards to the
down slope at the front of the green from where
Ritchie played a majestic chip. Uppingham putting up
to a similar distance – hole halved. There cannot be a
safer pair of hands than our President Christopher
Ball. 2 nd at Woking a long par 3, up hill and the
ground is damp. Uppingham’s hit their tee shot short
left. Having been short with a 3 wood earlier in the
day, Ball took out his driver. Knowing he might have
too much club – he choked down, teed up one club
length back from the tee box and put Radley in a
winning position 15 ft from the pin. Ritchie rolled his
putt up to allow our President the final word. ( I am
sure he would have been very happy not to have the
final word!) Sir Archie, I hope you were watching.
Floreat Radley.
