Driving on winding roads requires the utmost in concentration,<br />
especially at night. To make life much easier for<br />
you, the <strong>CLS</strong> comes with the option of bi - xenon headlamps,<br />
whose luminance is twice that of conventional halogen<br />
bulbs. <strong>The</strong> active light function ( optional ) allows the headlamps<br />
to follow the driver’s steering movements, improving<br />
illumination on bends by up to 25 %. Furthermore, the<br />
cornering light function is activated automatically as<br />
required, at speeds of up to 40 km / h, in order to boost the<br />
effect of the headlamps : when you start to turn the steering<br />
wheel, the fog lamp on the relevant side of the car<br />
is switched on in addition to the headlamps in order to<br />
ensure optimum illumination of the bend. <strong>The</strong> same thing<br />
happens when you indicate to make a turn. Bi - xenon technology<br />
also has further advantages in that the bulbs last<br />
much longer and use less energy than their conventional<br />
counterparts.
