<strong>Quarterback</strong> Warm-Up <strong>Drills</strong><br />
• Ten Yard Throws:<br />
– Rotation:<br />
• Procedure: He will then turn, realigning<br />
himself 90 degrees towards his throwing arm<br />
(so if he was facing target downfield, he now<br />
has his body facing the sideling). He will get<br />
on the balls of his feet and rise to his toes<br />
pointing his pelvis at his target and delivering<br />
the ball with proper mechanics. After a set<br />
number of throws, the quarterback will then<br />
turn his body towards the other sideline (a<br />
much tougher throw). He now needs to once<br />
again get on the balls of his fee and rise to his<br />
toes. Simultaneously, he will rotate his upper<br />
body (exaggerating as if someone were pulling<br />
his throwing elbow and hip) pointing his pelvis<br />
at his target and delivering the ball with proper<br />
mechanics.<br />
• Objective: To practice proper upright throwing<br />
mechanics and to emphasize proper hip<br />
rotation and pelvis pointing.
