Galaxy Express 999 is a classic anime
by Leiji Matsumoto, the creator of Star
Blazers (Space Battleship Yamato), Captain
Harlock, Galaxy Railways, and several other
wonderful sci-fi stories. For so long now,
Galaxy Express 999 has been out of print.
Seeing it fi nally released on DVD makes
me feel like I’ve come full-circle. While the
animation and artwork are a little rough
compared to newer titles, the story is a
timeless one full of humor and heart. Titles
like Galaxy Express 999 are the reason I
love anime.
