In particular we would like to
acknowledge our 2 highest
fundraisers, who were; Kaitlyn
Walker, and Jessica Dalboni.
Kaitlyn raised over $400 for
this event, while Jessica raised
over $130 alone. Congratulations
girls on a great achievement.
To all those individuals who raised over $10, your prizes are on the
way, and will be distributed when they arrive.
YOUNG SPORTING TALENT
Congratulations to year 7 student, Sophie Caldwell on being selected
in the Young Talent Squad of Swimming Victoria. Sophie is one
of 30 young swimmers chosen each year as part of the Swimming
Victoria development program. The program allows Sophie access
to coaching from some of Victoria’s best coaching staff, as well as a
possible future in the Victorian Institute of Sport. We congratulate
Sophie on this wonderful achievement.

SPORTING HALL OF FAME BREAKFAST
The Ringwood Secondary
College Sporting
Hall of Fame Breakfast
was held on the 21st
of June where past students,
Michelle Waterson
and Natalie Yates,
were inducted into the
Hall.
Both girls have won Victorian and Australian
Championships in cheerleading
and have competed internationally,
with Natalie and Michelle placing 10th
in the World in 2009 and Michelle placing
6th in 2009.
Thank you to all staff, students and
parents that battled through the wintry
morning to attend, and also to the
canteen ladies for providing a fantastic
breakfast. This year’s guest speaker was
Monette Russo, Olympian, Commonwealth and World Championship
medallist, who spoke of the perseverance and determination
required to succeed in sport and life. A big thank you to Monette for
giving up her time to speak at this year’s breakfast.
JUNIOR GIRLS FOOTBALL
The team competed earlier this term in the Division Round Robin,
Year 10
METEC Driver Training Centre excursion
On Wednesday the 23rd of
May, 54 excited and slightly
inexperienced Year 10’s took
to the roads of METEC in Bayswater
North.
During the day, they were
educated about road rules
and dangers on the road to
be aware of as well as driving
with a qualified driving
instructor around the course.
Students also had the opportunity
to sit for their Learners
Permit – congratulations
to those students who now
have their L-plates!

Year 10 Work Experience
Work experience for Year 10 is in last week of term- Monday June
25th, for one week. We hope the Year 10’s have a wonderful experience
and that they utilized this time to explore career possibilities
or embrace other opportunities that may eventuate from this experience.
Students received a Work Experience Journal, at the Year 10 level
assembly, which contains vital information including an evaluation
form, a thank you certificate and notes on succeeding at Work Experience.

• All students must have returned the completed Work Experience
Arrangement form to ensure full legal cover
• All students should have completed the O H & S training
• All students should contact employers to check on important details
such as what to wear, lunch arrangements etc.
The college wishes all students the very best for their week at work
and we look forward to hearing about their diverse and exciting
experiences. Students will be visited or rung by staff to check on
their progress. If parents have any concerns with any aspect of Work
Experience please don’t hesitate to contact Mrs Allison.
