Worlds of Work<br />
Year 10 refugee students from Monday 25th June to Friday the 29th<br />
of June will head into the city to learn about work in Melbourne.<br />
The program is called Worlds of Work and is run by The Foundation<br />
for Young Australians. In the city they will visit businesses and workplaces.<br />
We wish them well in this adventure.<br />

range of sessions covering all aspects of tertiary studies. First in the<br />
Family refers to students who will be the first in their family to attend<br />

Future Options Evening<br />
Thank you to the Year 10 students and parents who attended our<br />
Future Options Evening on June 5th. Participants listened to the<br />
VCAL Coordinator from Joe Pollock, Executive Manager <strong>Ringwood</strong><br />
Trade Training Facility, Helen Doherty VET Coordinator and Janette<br />
Bennie, VCAL Coordinator from <strong>Ringwood</strong> <strong>Secondary</strong> <strong>College</strong>. If<br />
you any questions about the information do not hesitate to contact<br />
Mrs Allison. A reminder: to attend the VCE Information Session in<br />
July (info to be sent home soon).<br />
Year 12 TIS<br />
Year 12 students visited Deakin University on Friday 22nd June for<br />
the Tertiary Information Session that provided details of the VTAC<br />
application process for TAFE and university in 2013. The students<br />
had the opportunity to visit an expo held by many tertiary institutions<br />
followed by a tour of the university by current Deakin students.<br />
Years 10-12 Open Days<br />
All students (Years 10-12) have been provided with a copy of this<br />
year’s Open Days (apologies for the omission of Deakin University-<br />
August 26th), which outlines all key dates. It is vital for students to<br />
take advantage of these days to investigate career and course options.<br />

La Trobe University Folio Preparation Program<br />
La Trobe university (Bendigo campus) is offering a 2-day folio preparation<br />
program for Year 11 and 12s wishing to enter university.<br />
Gain the skills required to build an impressive portfolio and be able<br />
to approach university pre-selection with confidence. The 2-day<br />
program will have course specific interview tips and other information<br />
to maximise your chances of success. The workshops target<br />
studio arts, fine art, media studies, and visual communication students.<br />
