The minibus raffle is going slowly but steadily, there is a prize
for the form selling the most tickets. The draw for the raffle will take place at the
Friends’ meeting in the Library on Wednesday 10th October. If your son or daughter
has any tickets unsold at home please encourage them to try and sell them. Please can
you also remind your son or daughter that we need all unsold tickets returned as well.
We realise times are difficult, the Friends appreciate all you can do to support this venture.
Our next major event is the BONFIRE & FIREWORK DISPLAY which will take
place on the school playing fields on Friday 9th November. It will begin at 6.30pm when
the Bonfire will be lit on the heights and finish after the Firework display at about
8.30pm. Apart from the Bonfire and Fireworks there will be lots going on:
HOG ROAST TOFFEE APPLES JACKET POTATOES SOUP
BARBEQUE HOT DOGS SOFT DRINKS ENTERTAINMENT
For safety reasons we can NOT allow people to bring in their own Fireworks/Sparklers
and entry will be by TICKET only. Tickets can be bought at Reception every morning during
break and lunchtime for £3.50 each from Monday 15th October. Once tickets are
bought they are the responsibility of the purchaser, unfortunately lost tickets cannot be
replaced by The Friends’ whatever the reason. YOU NEED YOUR TICKETS TO GAIN
ENTRY AND YOU CANNOT PAY ON THE GATE.
There will be a limited amount of tickets available, so please try and buy them before
half-term due to the extended holiday and as we don’t return to school until Thursday
8th November this means students will only have 1 hour each day to purchase tickets.
We don’t want you to be disappointed.

Christmas is on its way and if you want a present that is just a bit different The Friends are still
selling the Chas Jacob print of Ripley School. These prints are an ongoing project and are excellent
value at £39.50 each. There is a copy in reception for you to see or you can view it on the school
website. If you would like to purchase a picture please fill in the slip below and return to The
Friends’ box in reception and we will get back to you. Please make your cheque payable to The
Friends of Ripley School.

Harvest Festival
Tuesday 16 th October
If you would like to join us on this evening, free tickets are available at reception now. Any gifts for
the Harvest (Non perishable) can be left at reception from Thursday 11 th October. After the service
they will all be taken to the Olive Branch.

At the Friends’ AGM the following people were elected:

We had 25 replies to our September quiz, we had 5 students who got all 6 correct. The winners
were: Ben Keenan 7Dawson & Grace Kennedy 8Vose. Congratulations you have both won £5.
