Star choice for pupils
Youngsters from Springwell Park
Primary School in Bootle earned
themselves a gold star when they
came up with a name for Riverside’s
new apartment block.
The block of nine two-bedroom flats, on
the site of the old Orrell Primary School,
was named the Orrell Star Apartments
by the Year Six pupils.
It is part of the second phase of a
development primarily for residents
from the Klondyke redevelopment
area whose homes are scheduled for
demolition. Eight of the 11 new tenants
are from that area.
The children also created their own works
of art, three of which will be selected to
go on the communal walls of the block.

Self assessment
Riverside has started its self-assessment
process for this year, examining the
services it provides, and comparing its
performance with last year and with
similar organisations.
Every year, after consulting with tenants, we
commit to carrying out improvements to our
service. As part of the assessment we check
that we have done what we said we would do.
When we have carried out the self assessments,
we will be asking tenants to tell us how they
think we have performed. We will hold three
tenant events to feed back the results.
