This building has been described as ‘a true monument <strong>to</strong> the modern use of<br />

hardwood’ which is heartening in an era when the environmental confrontation<br />

of a decade, left many architects nervous about the specification of hardwoods.<br />

If character and a degree of privacy are required, then Mr Gehry, as usual,<br />

turns heads and makes his mark with Maggie’s Centre. If light, space and<br />

complete transparency are essential, then the South Bank project in London<br />

has it ‘<strong>to</strong> a tee’. In the EU Vet Office, Mr Ciaran O’Connor had <strong>to</strong> create a<br />

ONE of the largest coating manufacturers for wooden windows and doors, Remmers<br />

The company manufactures and supplies approximately 80 types of products for<br />

timber-based industries. The Far East Office was incorporated in Singapore in 1992.<br />

One of the products from Remmers, AIDOL Hydro Window Scumble, is a water<br />

dilutable, fast drying, translucent stain for the surface treatment of wooden building<br />

elements made of hard or soft wood, such as exterior doors and windows. The product<br />

can be used as intermediate and finishing coats.<br />

AIDOL Hydro Window Scumble imparts high gloss and improved UV resistance<br />

and ensures good surface quality. Furthermore, there will be no swelling (water stains)<br />

after drying.<br />
