KEY FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION<br />
1. Undertake the full range of functions for recruitment, selection and appointment for<br />
specified Divisions<br />
2. Assist in the monitoring of HR compliance issues and undertake general HR<br />
administrative functions<br />
3. Contribute to the development, implementation and monitoring of policies and<br />
procedures based on relevant legislation and contemporary HR management practices<br />
which provide an effective, consistent and timely delivery of HR services to RWWA to<br />
support organisational needs<br />
4. In consultation with Manager <strong>Human</strong> <strong>Resources</strong>, provide an advisory service to<br />
specified Divisions on HR management, workplace relations and OSH matters to line<br />
management and staff<br />
5. Recommend, initiate and implement strategies to enhance RWWA’s people<br />
management capabilities<br />
6. Manage induction training for all new staff

Undertake the full range of staff recruitment and selection processes<br />
within agreed timeframes, including advice and support to line<br />
management, drafting and placing advertisements, drafting interview<br />
questions, coordinating candidate information and interviews,<br />
preparation of selection reports, conducting reference checks,<br />
constructing offers of employment<br />
Develop, coordinate, monitor and evaluate staff induction and exit<br />
interview processes and make recommendations as appropriate<br />
Provide a consultancy and advisory service to line management and<br />
staff on HR management issues including the development,<br />
implementation, monitoring and evaluation of RWWA policies,<br />
procedures and guidelines together with the interpretation of relevant<br />
Acts, Regulations, Awards, industrial Agreements and legislation<br />
relevant to HR and the provision of advice on contemporary HR<br />
practices<br />
Where appropriate provide information and advice on <strong>Human</strong><br />
<strong>Resources</strong> Management issues to staff and ensure effective<br />
communication with all staff to maintain ethical and transparent working<br />
relationships<br />
Coordinate regular meetings with allocated Line Managers and provide<br />
HR related support to their respective Divisions on workplace related<br />
issues<br />
Participate in HR projects as required by the Manager <strong>Human</strong><br />
<strong>Resources</strong>, including research and preparation of documents for<br />
Manager’s review and implementation of recommendations<br />
In consultation with the Manager <strong>Human</strong> <strong>Resources</strong>, provide advice to<br />
line management on organisational structure issues<br />
Project Delivery (Learning & Development) 35%<br />
1. Provide ongoing support to Line Managers by developing and<br />
implementing an effective induction process across the organisation<br />
2. Provide input to the development and implementation of appropriate<br />
policies and procedures for RWWA’s learning and development<br />
activities<br />
3. Recommend, initiate and implement strategies to enhance<br />
Management capabilities, including the development and<br />
implementation of management training programs

Policy & Compliance 15%<br />
1. Contribute to the development, implementation and monitoring of<br />
internal policies, guidelines, procedures and processes which provide<br />
an effective, consistent and timely delivery of HR services to RWWA<br />
2. Assist in monitoring and ensuring organisational legislative compliance<br />
in relation to workplace practices<br />
3. Contribute to RWWA’s workplace culture through the development,<br />
review and promotion of Core Values and Code of Conduct<br />
Workplace Reform 7.5%<br />
1. Provide information and advice to line management and staff on<br />
change management initiatives<br />
2. Contribute as part of a team to the implementation of change<br />
management initiatives<br />
Administration 7.5%<br />
1. Assist line managers in the development of position descriptions for<br />
specified Divisions and ensure appropriate review and update<br />
2. Assist line managers in position classification and reclassification<br />
processes for specified Divisions and undertake related documentation<br />
3. Assist with the provision of report requirements for the organisation<br />
including turnover, training, exit data, staff surveys, recruitment<br />
response rates<br />
4. Assist in the application of the performance management system and<br />
provide ongoing support to line management and staff<br />
5. Provide general HR administrative support across the organisation
POSITION DESCRIPTION<br />
EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITY RELEVANT<br />
TO THE POSITION<br />
1. Substantial HR generalist experience, preferably in a competitive corporate<br />
environment, at a senior level with direct accountability for significant HR<br />
2. An ability to interpret legislation, regulations, Awards, Industrial Agreements together<br />
with policy and procedure<br />
3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including interviewing, counselling,<br />
negotiating and report writing<br />
4. An ability to interact proactively with management and staff at all levels of the<br />
organisation in the resolution of HR issues<br />
5. Demonstrated competence in conceptual, analytical and problem solving skills<br />
6. Experience in research, and policy and program development<br />
7. Substantial experience in the development and effective delivery/facilitation of training<br />
programs to achieved specified learning outcomes<br />
8. Proven success in the development and implementation of human resource programs<br />
and initiatives, including review and improvement of work practices<br />
9. Knowledge of job evaluation and classification review processes<br />
10. Well developed organisational and administrative skills, including strong attention to<br />
detail and the ability to prioritise and control own workload<br />
11. Demonstrated effectiveness in contributing to a small team, including the capacity to<br />
review and improve workplace practices<br />
12. Demonstrated capacity to effectively communicate, promote and uphold HR initiatives<br />
and values, including discretion and confidentiality<br />
13. Ability to contribute towards the development and implementation of HR programs and<br />
initiatives to meet the needs of the organisation<br />
14. Well developed computer literacy skills within a Microsoft Office environment<br />
15. Working knowledge of computerised human resource information systems<br />
16. Possession of or substantial progression towards a relevant tertiary qualification or<br />
equivalent relevant experience
