Imam (a) was only 8 years old when his father was martyred. Thus, like his father, He<br />
also took over the responsibility of Imamat at a very young age.<br />
15.1 Imam Ali Naqi (a) and Junaydi<br />
The caliph wrote to the governor of Medina asking him to send the young Imam (a) to<br />
a person called Junaydi for tutoring. Junaydi was an old, well known poet of that time<br />
and “anti-Ahlul-bayt” When Junaydi was once asked about the progress of his<br />
student he said:<br />
“I am the student and he is the teacher. I now know what knowledge is. What I say<br />
is because of what I have been taught by Imam”.<br />
