Pursuant to the provisions of Section 35(2) of the Constitution, His Excellency the<br />
Governor has:<br />
1. Declared that, by reason of absence from <strong>St</strong> <strong>Helena</strong>, Derek Franklin Thomas<br />
is temporarily unable to discharge his functions as a member of the Executive Council from 22<br />
November 2012 to 10 December 2012 and
<strong>St</strong> <strong>Helena</strong> Government Gazette 421<br />
2. Appointed John Gilbert Cranfield to be a temporary member of the Executive Council<br />
from 22 November 2012 to 10 December 2012.<br />

Appointment of Acting Chairman of the Home, Civil Society and International<br />
Committee<br />
In exercise of the powers conferred upon me by section 118(3) of the Constitution, I<br />
hereby appoint the Honourable John Gilbert Cranfield as Acting Chairman of the Home, Civil<br />
Society and International Committee with effect from 22 November 2012 to 10 December<br />
2012, while the holder of the office of Chairman of the Committee is unable to perform the<br />
functions of the office due to absence from <strong>St</strong>. <strong>Helena</strong>.<br />
