The <strong>Santa</strong> <strong>Cruz</strong> <strong>Beach</strong> <strong>Trolley</strong> was all<br />

that was hoped for and more! Carrying<br />

22,750 riders over 80 days of service,<br />

the trolley became a draw in its own<br />

right and 2012 will be even better. We’d like<br />

you on board as a trolley partner!<br />

Plans for 2012 build on the trolley’s first year<br />

adding a little more sizzle. The <strong>Santa</strong> <strong>Cruz</strong> <strong>Beach</strong><br />

– Downtown <strong>Trolley</strong> will run from Memorial Day<br />

to Labor Day and selected spring and fall weekends<br />

ten hours per day on a 30-minute round-trip<br />

schedule. This replica trolley is outfitted with<br />

digital signage displaying sponsors’ advertisements<br />

in rotation. In 2012 these ads paid off.<br />

testimonials of their conversion<br />

into customer visits and sales.<br />

an Ad-card distribution rack.<br />

Advertisers will be able to<br />

attract riders with discounts,<br />

sales, and special events with<br />

business-card size promotional<br />

coupons. Also new this year is<br />

advertising on the reverse side of the “ride free”<br />

coupons that are distributed by sponsors, lodging,<br />

and attractions.<br />

the trolley. This screen, the latest in digital<br />

signage, is capable of playing embedded video<br />

and a variety of special effects. It will rotate<br />

advertising to a captive audience during the<br />

30-minute round trip.<br />

• Brand recognition in the <strong>Santa</strong> <strong>Cruz</strong> Area<br />

Chamber and the <strong>Santa</strong> <strong>Cruz</strong> Downtown Association<br />

As an Advertiser:<br />

• Advertising cards in an attractive rack at the<br />

front of the trolley. Passengers can withdraw ad<br />

the trip. Limited to 28 advertisers.<br />

• Free-ride coupon, distributed through hotels,<br />

attractions, and sponsors, the back of this<br />

coupon will be sold to one sponsor for the<br />

2012 season.<br />

• Monthly digital advertising on the digital display,<br />

as described above, subject to availability.
