DVB-RCS Maritime VSAT Terminals
> Maritime Connectivity Solutions
The maritime terminal is a flexible system based on a stabilized platform and designed
for use in IP Broadband Satellite Access Networks. IP applications such as e-
mail, file transfer, multicasting, video streaming, audio streaming, etc, are supported
by the terminal. The terminal is based on a rugged, high accuracy offshore
motorized antenna assembly. Compared to alternative solutions the terminal can
provide data rates that reaches speeds of 6 Mbps upload and 40 Mbps download
(sustained throughput at the ethernet interface).
Key Stabilized Terminal Features
• Automatically locates and locks onto predetermined
satellites in less than five minutes of deployment.
• Connectivity of audio, voice, and data
• Data rates up to 6 Mbps inbound and 40 Mb/s
outbound
• Fully DVB-RCS compliant and interoperable
• True high speed connectivity
• High quality transmission
• Supports various RF packages
• High-torque motors position the antenna and
keep the antenna firmly locked-in on the selected
satellite.
• Fast acting electronics are backed up by sophisticated
horizontal and vertical mechanical shock
absorbers.
• Shielded electronics eliminate EMI emissions and
RF.
• Sensitive motion sensors are positioned to permit
the fastest possible response to ship movements.
Benefits
• Simple Installation
• Easy Maintenance
• High reliability (high MTBF)
Platform
The maritime antenna assembly delivers a powerful, compact and cost-effective VSAT package for telephone,
internet & streaming video, GSM cellular, fax, videoconference and other applications currently available
in satellite communication. With a cost-effective modular design meeting tough standards, the robust
assembly is qualified to be used in marine stabilized satellite communication systems.
