Trail Info & Highlights<br />
• Dirt trail with 50% shade cover<br />
• Lake Ranch Reservoir <strong>of</strong>fers picnic table, fishing, excellent bird watching<br />
• Slight trail incline to reservoir; steeper decline/incline between reservoir<br />
and Sanborn Rd.<br />
• Travel through spectacular redwood forest<br />
• Watch for black-tailed deer, red-tail hawks, herons, waterfowl, reptiles, amphibians<br />
Trail Directions<br />
• From Black Road parking area, proceed 1.4 miles on John Nicholas Trail to<br />
reservoir<br />
• Hike 0.5 miles along reservoir<br />
• Turn right onto Lake Ranch Trail, proceed downhill 0.6 miles to Sanborn<br />
Road trailhead (no parking)<br />
• Return to Black Road parking lot via same route<br />
Health Tip<br />
Walk 30 minutes a day, five days a week.<br />
Try walking sticks. They’ve been found to help<br />
individuals with physical problems, such as<br />
respiratory issues, become more active.<br />
