Operating principle
This system of tools moving is obtained by means of
a combination of translator movement (that allows to
follow the film during the cutting phase) and a closing
movement of the tool (that could be motorized or not).
The translation of the tool is obtained by means a
mechanical handle. The closing is typically pneumatic
or obtained using brushless or asynchronous
motors. During the cutting phase the tool must be
at the same speed of the film, but sometimes it shall
able to manage an offset between the film speed and
the tool, in order to obtain a stretch of the packet.
Cutting device could be inserted by a mechanical or
pneumatic system.
Characteristics
• Registration capture
• Dynamic motion profile changes on the fly
• Errors reporting
• Engineering units are used
• Fast product change
• Cam profile optimization reduces
the mechanical stress
• The return profile is calculated to operate at the
slowest speed and acceleration rate, and yet with
sufficient time to achieve the next cut
• Parallel and angled carriage applications are handled
• 3 differents operating modes :
- Cutting without touch probe and length to cut.
- Cutting with touch probe and length to cut
- Cutting on touch probe without length to cut
• Change length to cut without stopping the machine
• Add offset can be parameterized when cut is
finished
• Cold start and warm start.
Packaging
• Vertical bagging machines
• Shrinking machines
