Stuart Rosenstein requested information on funding which would include the cost per rider<br />
Mara Murphy requested an organizational chart <strong>of</strong> the METRO departments andlor<br />
METRO staff. Les White stated that METRO could provide copies <strong>of</strong> the <strong>SCMTD</strong> FY08<br />
Final Budget and the METRO Five (5) Year Plan, which would provide both funding<br />
information and organizational charts.<br />
Chair Robert Yount reported that he creates his own binders to keep MAC minutes and<br />
informational materials and suggested the other MAC Members do the same. Les White<br />
stated that METRO could provide MAC Members with binders. Mr. Yount requested that<br />
MAC Members be responsible for maintaining and updating their individual binders which<br />
would include requested materials, minutes, and informational materials and that it would<br />
be the responsibility <strong>of</strong> the member to keep the binder in their possession and have it<br />
available at MAC Meetings.<br />
Les White stated that information can be sent electronically with the MAC <strong>Agenda</strong> Packet<br />
and also be provided in hard copy at the meeting.<br />
11. DISCUSSION OF CREATING A PLANNED SCHEDULE OF EVENTS FOR THE<br />
<strong>2008</strong> MAC MEETINGS<br />
Chair Robert Yount requested suggestions for eliminating a summer month MAC Meeting<br />
per previous requests by MAC Members. Mr. Yount stated that this would be a discussion<br />
and that a motion was not being requested at this time.<br />
Chair Robert Yount reported that MAC Members have requested that joint meetings with<br />
MAC and the METRO <strong>Board</strong> as well as tours <strong>of</strong> METRO facilities and operations be<br />
included in the <strong>2008</strong> MAC Meeting Schedule in lieu <strong>of</strong> regularly scheduled meetings. Mr.<br />
Yount stated that this would require MAC Members to attend these events at dates and<br />
times other than the regularly scheduled MAC Meetings.<br />
Dave Williams suggested having a MAC Meeting in Watsonville with a Spanish interpreter<br />
12. DISCUSSION OF METRO SAFETY AND INJURY POLICIES AND PROCEDURES<br />
ON BUSES<br />
Ciro Aguirre distributed copies <strong>of</strong> the Emergencies and Incidents section <strong>of</strong> the METRO<br />
Coach Operators Handbook, which is attached to the file copy <strong>of</strong> these minutes. Mr.<br />
Aguirre reported that operators are not trained in emergency medical techniques or<br />
Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and that in an event <strong>of</strong> medical, emergency, safety,<br />
and/or criminal situations the operator will immediately contact METRO Dispatch and<br />
Dispatch will notify the appropriate authorities. Mr. Aguirre reported that METRO buses<br />
have minimal medical and emergency equipment including a basic first aid kit, fire<br />
extinguisher(s), clearly marked emergency exits, and road flares.<br />
