EHAPTER PLEDGES FIVE
The Chapter had a very su€cessful
rush this semester. The chapter
extended twelve bids to hoPeful
pledges and acquired five men to
continue the pledge process. Sone
of the events held during rush included
volleybalt behind the house
before a home football game, a
movie night, a billiards tournament
at Outback Jacks on the SDSU carnpus,
and bowling at Prairie Lanes.
The chapter had 100 percent attendance
at all the rush events and
showed great effort in making rush
a great experience for the new
pledges.
enjoyed some rolls and juice at the
house.
After the parade the crowd of
about 40 parents and alumni enjoyed
the hot chili and the brand
new formal living room before heading
out to the game. The stands were
packed with excited fans waiting to
see the Jackrabbits tromp St. Cloud
State and get the Hobo Day victory
that they had been denied the year
before. Even though it was cold, the
Jacks didn't disappoint anybody,
burning up the frozen tundra beating
St. Cloud State 27-24 - Over all it
was a great day for everyone.

There was no catchy theme
for the Hobo's to cling to this year;
just traditions, and traditions it
was. The chapter hosted its alumni
and parents for the weekend, but
before the crowd bundled up and
headed down to the parade, they
The South Dakota Theta Chapter
held a community service project
on Friday, October 17,2003. fhe
chapter voted to continue their
Adopt-A-Highway project on U.S.
Highway 14 about ten miles east of
Brookings. A total of eighteen active
members and three pledges participated.
The Brothers put on their orange
vests and divided into four
groups to allow for each group to
take one-mile of highway. The early
evening weather was perfect and
sunn)r and the Brothers were able to
complete the cleanup in a halfhour.
This project is a valuable attribute
to give back to Brookings
County and also is a very efficient
