Dr. Julia Chan Pui Shan Dr. Catherine Yuen Ka Yan 5. The following members were nominated and elected to serve as office bearers of the Council for the year 2007-2008: 5.1. President: Dr. CC Mok (proposed by Dr. YY Leung, seconded by Dr. KW Lee); 5.2. Hon. Secretary: Dr. LS Tam (proposed by Dr. CC Mok, seconded by Dr. KW Lee); 5.3. Hon. Treasurer: Dr. Helen Chan (proposed by Dr. TC Cheung, seconded by Dr. LS Tam); 5.4. The following members were nominated and elected to serve as members of the Council for the year 2007-2008: Dr. Leung Ying Ying, Katy; Dr. Mok Mo Yin, Temy; Dr. Yim Cheuk Wan; Dr. Yip Man Lung 6. To nominate and appoint the Auditor of the Society 6.1 It was resolved that Li, Tang, Chen & Co. be appointed as auditor of the Society for the year 2008-2009, as nominated by Dr. Helen Chan and seconded by Dr. LS Tam. 7. The President reported on the following regional meetings. 7.1 Progress of the APLAR 2010 organization 8. AOB Dr. KW Lee reported the progress of the APLAR2010 meeting organization. The details have actually been reported in the last Organizing Committee meeting. The date for the APLAR meeting 2010 may have to be changed to the 4 th week of July because of the Ramadan period of the Islamic countries. There is a risk of having typhoons at this time of the year and arrangement will be discussed with the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center. 8.1 Communication email address: Dr. Emily Kun reminded members that the Hospital Authority email address should only be used for official affairs related to Hospital Authority. Communication for other affairs such as the Hong Kong Society of Rheumatology should be done by using members’ private emails. Changes have to be made to the group email address of the HKSR. 8.2 In view of the change in the office bearers of the Council, members agreed that the following members are authorized to sign for the account of the HKSR (HSBC account 809 291 347 838: Dr. Mok Chi Chiu (President); Dr. Tam Lai Shan (Hon Secretary); and Dr. Chan Ka Yan Helen (Hon Treasurer). Those previously authorized can no longer sign for the transaction of the account. 2
8.3 Dr. CC Mok reported that previous Council meetings were unduly long sometimes. Subcommittees will be formed in the coming Council to deal with routine activities so that minor details need not be discussed during the future Council meetings. 9. Vote of thanks to Dr. KW Lee who has served as President of the Council in the past 2 years and to Dr. Sandy Tang Shuk Kuen who has served the Council as council member in the past one year. 10.
