Repair Methods<br />

In case bore holes are misplaced or<br />

drilled in an inaccurate size during on<br />

site-work on the <strong>FFU</strong> sleepers, the<br />

<strong>FFU</strong> synthetic wood technology<br />

offers two different quick and easy<br />

repair methods without affecting the<br />

quality of the material.<br />

Using the first method, the defective<br />

bore hole is re-profiled, cleaned and<br />

then filled with liquid synthetic resin.<br />

After a curing time of just 30 minutes,<br />

a new bore hole can be drilled in the<br />

correct position a few millimetres<br />

away, and the originally intended<br />

screw connection made.<br />

Using the second method, the<br />

defective bore hole is cleaned and<br />

similarly filled with liquid synthetic<br />

resin. A <strong>FFU</strong> synthetic wood dowel is<br />

then inserted. With this method<br />

curing takes about four hours until a<br />

new bore hole can be drilled at the<br />

repaired spot.<br />
