Lisa Sherrod is currently a graduate student working<br />

on her Master of Public Administration degree at the<br />

Barbara Jordan-Mickey Leland School of Public Affairs<br />

at <strong>Texas</strong> Southern University. She also works as a graduate<br />

assistant at the Barbara Jordan Archives. Prior to her<br />

current position, she spent seven years working as a<br />

legislative assistant for U.S. Representatives Ken Bentsen<br />

and Eddie Bernice Johnson in Washington, D.C. Ms.<br />

Sherrod is currently interning in the office of State<br />

Representative Sylvester Turner and with the <strong>Legislative</strong><br />

Black Caucus.<br />

Naomi Showers is a graduate student at Lamar<br />

University, currently studying for her Master of Public<br />

Administration degree. She received a Bachelor of Arts<br />

degree in Political Science from Lamar University. She<br />

previously worked for the Bill White for <strong>Texas</strong> campaign<br />

in Jefferson County. Ms. Showers is currently interning<br />

in the office of State Representative Ron Reynolds and<br />

has aspirations of opening a Public Relations and<br />

Lobbying Firm.<br />

Stephen Small is a senior at <strong>Texas</strong> Tech University<br />

in Lubbock, <strong>Texas</strong>. He is currently pursuing his Bachelor<br />

of Arts degree in Economics, coupled with a minor in<br />

History. After completing his degree at <strong>Texas</strong> Tech<br />

University, Stephen hopes to continue his education by<br />

attending law school to earn a Juris Doctorate, as well as<br />

a Master of Laws in Taxation.<br />
