<strong>The</strong> 2011 TLIP Interns<br />
Bernardo Aldape III is a second-year law student<br />
at Thurgood Marshall School of Law where he serves as<br />
President of the Hispanic Law Students Association and<br />
as a student ambassador. He received a Bachelor of Arts<br />
degree in Government from the University of <strong>Texas</strong> at<br />
Austin. Prior to law school, Mr. Aldape served in the<br />
United States Marine Corps and is a veteran of Operation<br />
Iraqi Freedom II. He is currently interning in the office<br />
of State Representative Veronica Gonzales and would like<br />
to pursue a career in public policy and criminal defense.<br />
Sabrina M. Bannister is a third-year law student<br />
at Southern University Law Center in Baton Rouge, LA.<br />
She graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Criminal Justice<br />
degree from Southern University in New Orleans.<br />
Previously, she interned at the Orleans Parish Civil Court<br />
and the Jefferson Parish District Attorney’s office. Ms.<br />
Bannister is currently interning with the Harris County<br />
Public Defender’s office and looks forward to an exciting<br />
career in public policy or health care.<br />
