Prolimit was started out of the desire to create products, which 

are made to perform! No marketing driven product engineering 

but product driven development. In these impressive 34 

years of history we have been on the forefront ever since. 

Prolimit started in the Netherlands and quickly increased its 

market share around the world and at the moment distributed 

in 58 countries worldwide. 

In the past years we have worked with almost every world 

champion in every discipline and we have been the fertile 

ground where many athletes started their young career. 

Looking back we are proud that so many young careers 

started when these promising athletes realized they needed 

the best possible product to excel. From the year 2000 Prolimit 

started a design office in Cape Town, South Africa where 

talented designers joined our team and in the challenging 

conditions of the South African coastline we could spend 

even more time on the water in all seasons while keeping the 

unique northern testing grounds in the Netherlands as well 

for sub zero conditions. We also teamed up in our quest for 

the best possible product with experts from the USA in seam 

technologies, which we now use in every single product and 

have created long lasting and durable relationships with the 

best factories abroad.

A unique technology! Used for the sixth consecutive year in our 

C6 wetsuits. Seams are triple glued and sealed off on both sides 

with a liquid rubber seal. The liquid seal reinforces the seams and 

prevent any water leakage. Our Stitchless wetsuit construction. 

The advantage super stretch seams and the ability to use it on 

skin surfaces. 

NEOPRENE IS A VERY SPECIFIC MATERIAL.

SINGLE 

P O W E R S E A M 

Spin off our Powerseam technology. Triple glued seams with the outside 

of the seam sealed by a wider liqued rubber seal. Creating a high stretch 

seam. The inside of seam is protected by our glued and blind stitched technology. 

The advantage of the tough seam is the stretch seam and it prevents 

any water leakage. The looks and benefits of our Powerseam plus the 

durability of our glued and blind stiched wetsuits. 

Neoprene is a blown rubber laminated with a lining made out of 

nylon, polyester or any other fabric. The amount of air in the rubber 

determines the stretch of the neoprene which is the fundament of 

the neoprene sheet. 

The laminated materials is the material which is determing the 

stretch and the amount of stretch but even more important the direction 

of the stretch. 

Our neoprene is made out of limestone which is a rock that is remarkably 

free from impurities. This allowed us to develop suits 

without using oil based neoprene. This neoprene also allowed us 

to create lightweight suits with an exceptional thermal insulation, 

with higher stretch, which are easier to take on and off, which reduce 

drag and increase speed and which is making our suits more 

buoyant for above watersports usage. 

The maximum of elongation of our neoprene is close to 500% 

and human skin stretches to around 70% making our wetsuits 

the most free moving wetsuits available. Precise seam placements 

are giving our wetsuits the exact fit without using the 

stretch of the neoprene to fit to your body. Most wetsuits use 

less seams which requires the neoprene to stretch to adapt to 

your body which is minimizing the insulation. 

Prolimit is using different neoprene types for different usage 

and different price segments. 

FTM SEAM 

FTM stands for our Fluid Taping Method. Triple glued seams with the outside of 

the seam sealed of by a wider neoprene seal The inside of seam is protected 

by our glued and blind stitched technology. The advantage of the FTM seam 

is the stretch seam and creates a durable and watertight seam. 

GLUED AND BLINDSTITCHED SEAMS 

Triple glued panels are stitched together with a special stitching method. 

Partially puncturing the neoprene to keep the water tightness of the seam/ 

wetsuit. Each thread is protected by a tape at the end. Our perfect finish 

makes our glued and blindstiched wetsuit undestroyable!

PROLIMIT CREATED THE OCL LAST TECHNOLOGY, (ORTHOPEDIC CONTROLED LAST). 

THE ADVANTAGE: BETTER FITTING FOOTWEAR THAN ANYTHING AVAILABLE ON THE MARKET! 

History: By adding in more seam shape in our boots& shoes 

we found out that it did not gave us better fit. The reason; 

we were using the same last as all our competitors! The Alloy 

casted lasts determines the shape and fit of neoprene 

footwear. A neoprene sock is mounted around the last and 

rubber parts are joined together. The last goes into the oven 

for the rubber parts to cure, moulding all exactly around the 

last. 

Solution: Realizing this we started the search for a better last. 

We found out that there are no lasts made for active water 

sports . All lasts available in the market are made for multi 

purpose usage; like for waders boots or fishing purposes 

which are static shaped profiles. 

That made us to decide to built the best last possible for 

active water sports. Together with a Orthopedic specialist 

we analyzed different feet and came up with complete 

new last designs. In the design we incorporated the stretch 

of the materials, water influence and the dynamic positions 

of the feet during active water sport. Your feet are made of 

26 bones and 214 ligaments! They need proper support! Also 

during active water sports. 

OCL LASTS IS DIFFERENT! 

Most of the Prolimit boots and shoes are built using our 

unique, Prolimit owned, OCL (Orthopedic Controled Last). 

Nobody in the entire industry made the same effort to go 

this far! We created the best SHAPE and TECHNOLOGY in a 

neoprene boot or shoe. 

Profiled heel 

• Shaft is more raked back for the Dynamic position, 

• The heel of our OCL lasts are much narrower closing nicely 

around your Achilles tendon and supporting it, 

Swept foot profile 

• Our arch is lower to prevent rolling of the boot around your foot, 

• Our sole foot arch is pre shaped to fit the natural position of the 

foot which is not flat 

More important, OCL last build boots and shoes will have less water 

entry. You can hear the difference when filled up with water, while 

other boots suck in water. Neoprene is stretching in the water even 

more, all boots and shoes of other brands are sucking in water as 

boots and shoes are not fitting tightly enough around your foot. 

Prolimit OCL last build boots are making no noise at all. WHY? 

Simple, OCL last build boots are leaving no air space in the boot 

which can not be filled up by water! Shape and Technology! More 

function and better performance! 

While all other brands in the market are using lasts made from 

fishing boots Prolimit took the effort to create something which is
