Have a Love for the Game? Sign Up for One of Our One-Week Sports Camps! Basketball The City is hosting the third season of “Sportstar Camps,” featuring basketball camps for ages 8-14. All participants will receive a Sportstar Camp T-Shirt and Basketball. Instructor Mike Noblet, a former player and head coach for the Miami Hurricanes and professional basketball player in Europe, will train participants, within game settings, on dribbling, shooting, rebounding and defensive skills. June 19 - June 23 August 7 - August 11 August 14 - August 18 All Camps will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Cost: $130 per camp. Camp will be held at the Track 23 Fields in Mullins Park For more information, contact the Parks and Recreation Department at 345-2107. Baseball Come out and learn to be as good as the “Babe” himself with new instructor, Jerry Albert, Athletic Director and Head Baseball Coach at the Coral Springs Charter School. All camps are open to ages 7-15 and will be held at Mullins Park. Discounts are available for multiple camps. June 26 - June 30 July 10 -July 14 July 17 - July 21 August 14 - August 18 All camps will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Cost: $110 per camp. All camps are open to ages 6 - 14. This year’s Head Instructor is Gary Curreri, USSF National License and USSF National Youth License, Florida Youth Soccer Association State Staff Coach, as well as long time coach for the Coral Springs Storm. Through educational and fun exercises, Curreri will have participants practice training and skills in mini-game settings. Red Cross Swimming Lessons Available at Various City Pools Red Cross weekday and weekend swimming lessons are now available at Cypress Park Pool, Mullins Park Pool and the Aquatic Complex. Classes are available for a variety of levels and times will vary depending upon the site. Cost is $40 for eight, 45-minute lessons, unless otherwise noted. (Parent and infant classes last for 30 minutes.) Sign Your Little One Up for the New Toddler Swimming Program Staff has designed the program primarily for children 18 months - 36 months old. Participants Enjoy End-Of-The-Year Bowling Bowling Participants cheer as their fellow teammates receive trophies at the Parks and Recreation Department’s End-Of-The-Year Bowling Party. The event, sponsored by the Parks and Recreation Department and the Lions Club of Coral Springs, was part of the City’s annual bowling league for people with special needs. Community Awareness Classes Offered American Red Cross Community Awareness Classes are now available at the Aquatic Complex. The Staff is currently accepting enrollment for the following classes: Infant/Child CPR, Adult CPR, Community First Aid and Baby Sitting. Classes are available once a month. Lifeguard Training and Water Safety Instructor courses are also available. For class times and dates, please call the Aquatic Complex at 345-2121.
