Drive Unique Area - Optional area for recording unrestricted information unique to the<br />

drive (such as drive operating temperature) which certain implementations may use to<br />

enhance the use of the recorded power calibration information or the operation of the<br />

associated drive. Recording of data in this field shall be defined by the drive manufacturer.<br />

This area shall be an integral multiple of four bytes in length.<br />

3.3.7.4 <strong>UDF</strong> Backup Time<br />

The name of this stream shall be set to:<br />

“*<strong>UDF</strong> Backup”<br />

This stream shall have the following contents, which should be embedded in the<br />

ICB:<br />

0 12 Backup Time timestamp<br />

Backup Time is the latest time that a backup of this volume was performed.<br />

3.3.8 <strong>UDF</strong> Defined Non-System Streams<br />

This section defines the following non-system streams:<br />

3.3.8.1 Macintosh Resource Fork Stream<br />

Because the Resource Fork is referenced by an explicit interface, <strong>UDF</strong> implementations<br />

are not provided the authoritative name for this stream. For the purpose of interchange,<br />

the name shall be set to:<br />

“*<strong>UDF</strong> Macintosh Resource Fork”<br />

The Metadata bit in the File Characteristics field of the File Identifier Descriptor shall be<br />

set to 0 to indicate that the existence of this file should be made known to clients of a<br />

platform’s file system interface.<br />
