The Risk Placement Services (RPS), Boiler and Machinery Unit located in
Chicago, Illinois is the only unit of its kind in the country. We work exclusively
with “equipment breakdown insurance coverage”.

Leonard Eaton - Area Vice President
Len has been Area Vice President for the Boiler Machinery Unit since 2006.
He has 36 years of experience in the boiler & machinery insurance industry,
including 17 years with Kemper Insurance & 15 years with Hartford Steam Boiler
Inspection & Insurance Company.
Len’s years with Kemper Insurance included nine years as the Boiler &
Machinery Underwriting Manager in the Chicago office, two years as
an underwriting consultant & home office underwriting specialist, & six
years as a B&M Senior Engineering Specialist, in the home office
technical operations staff, specializing in electric utilities, pulp and paper, wasteto-energy,
cogeneration and general Manufacturing exposures.
Len’s years with Hartford Steam Boiler Inspection & Insurance Company were
as a Director of Engineering Account Management providing engineering loss
control programs to Insurance Brokers & Client Reinsurance companies. Len
also was an Industry Consultant in Loss Control Engineering specializing in Cogeneration,
Municipal & Public Utilities & General Manufacturing.
Joel Bissing - Assistant Vice President
Joel has 21 years of experience in the boiler & machinery insurance industry he
worked 10 years at Kemper Insurance and 6 with Hartford Steam Boiler Inspection &
Insurance Company.
Joel worked at Kemper Insurance in the Boiler & Machinery Underwriting unit in the
Chicago office for Len as an underwriter and underwriting specialist.
At Hartford Steam Boiler Inspection & Insurance Company, Joel worked as a Sr. Client
Manager, Team Marketing Manager, and Large Account Team lead.
Kathy Martinez - National Broker
Kathy is an insurance veteran of twenty-seven years of insurance experience,
ranging from independent agency to multi-national organizations.
Kathy has worked with CNA Insurance as an Underwriting Specialist in Boiler &
Machinery as well as with Hartford Steam Boiler Inspection & Insurance Company
as a production underwriter. Kathy spent sixteen years with American Family
Insurance as a Sales Director Assistant, Claims Unit Supervisor & Agent Office
Office Assistant.
