Notes from the editor
An interesting comment was passed the other day. A member asked “what does the jag club do
for me”. I am reminded of the late American President JF Kennedy, and to paraphrase him “it is
not what the Jaguar club can do for you, but what you can do for the Jaguar club”. We have
attempted to arrange car runs with the Jaguars since June 2010, however the response has been
getting less and less, we then tried organizing our runs to coincide with the Durban Early Car
Club, which resulted in even less Jaguars attending. On numerous occasions, we have provided
opportunities for various activities, but unfortunately have had very little or no response to
them. At our last committee meeting, we attempted to address this lack of interest and have now
reached to conclusion that as this Jaguar club is in name-only maybe we should consider winding
it down. In a last ditch attempt to have a Jaguar outing we are proposing that as Jaguar cars, we
attend the vintage Baynesfield hobbies fair. Details will be provided in a later issue.

This notice concerns all Left hand Drive vehicles.
I appreciate that not all Jaguars are left hand drive, but some of the Jaguar drivers have other
vehicles that are left hand drive. This email was sent to us by SAVVA and should be taken into
consideration.
SAVVA will be hosting a web page on the SAVVA website for all enthusiasts to log their
left hand drive vehicle/s. Please log all registered, un-registered and vehicle/s under
restoration in order to ascertain the collective number of LHD vehicles in S.A.
You will be required to list your name, id number, vehicle particulars, e-mail and contact
details.
This site will be confidential and not accessible to anyone other than the authorised
personnel dealing with this on the SAVVA committee.
Should you not have access to internet then the information can be faxed to 011 435-
9821.
Please note that the final document will be a collective one from SAVVA and SAMCA. We
are meeting with MSA in order to garner support from them.
Once this information is collected savva will compile a report that will be distributed to all
the clubs prior to the document being tabled to national department of transport (ndot) for
a concession to LHD vehicles. The website will be operational by Friday 28 January to
start registering your vehicle/s on: - www.savva.org.za
