CONTRAPTION MODULE
Initial triggering:
We have employed a simple impressive technique to make Tom and Jerry characters (balls) to roll down
onto their paths.
The trigger is provided by switching ON the motor which opens the gates of Tom and Jerry homes.
Trap-Escape Sequence 1:
Task-1: Raising of balloons by Tom. A pulley action is used for this purpose. A weight at one end of the
pulley is placed in the path of Tom which when stricken by tom falls and balloons supported at
other end of the pulley raise.
Task-2:
Jerry bursts the balloons triggered by tom irritating it. Jerry hits an obstacle in its path due to
which another ball rolls down its own path and hits a weight. The weight when released makes
some kind of needle arrangement to burst the balloons.
This makes tom irritated and tries to trap jerry
Trap-Escape-1:
Tom sets fire to make Jerry to fall into it. But Jerry cleverly escapes from it by setting a new path over
the fire and joyfully escapes.
Trap Escape Sequence 2:
Now Tom and Jerry enters the same path after Jerry’s escape from the fire trap and the funny chasing
between them starts again. However tom gets diverted because of small wheel arrangement made within its
path.
Task3: Playing golf by Tom. It kicks the ball into the post and makes a goal.
Task4: Meanwhile Jerry kicks the Domino sequence by triggering another ball which ultimately forms a
lively formation
Trap Escape2:
Here tom makes the bridge in the path of the Jerry to collapse.
However Jerry uses a tricky plan and comes out of the pool with the help of a small basket and
spring action.
Trap Escape Sequence 3:
Task5: Tom glows the series of LED’s

Task6: Jerry sets the disturbed image by moving painted blocks as we generally do in case of puzzle
games.
Trap Escape 3:
Tom releases fiery sharp gate with forks in the path of Jerry to block it.
Jerry stops before the gate and diverts the path of Tom before Tom could come, catch it and later
on Jerry escapes through another path that get opened due to diversion of Tom.
Trap Escape Sequence 4:
Task7: Jerry makes dog in its path happy by providing it with its delicious food bone.
Task8: Tom throws cheese for jerry because of which it gets attracted and tries to acquire it. But Tom
makes the cheese to move by connecting a thin string to cheese.
Trap Escape 4:
As Jerry moves for cheese tom makes an iron box to fall on Jerry.
But Jerry escapes from it with the help of dog.
Trap Escape Sequence 5:
Task9: Tom traps some pets
Task10: Jerry releases all the pets of tom
Trap Escape 5:
Tom gets angry over jerry’s action and hence tries to trap jerry in a mouse trap or a cage.
However Jerry escapes by placing another thing in trap.
Trap Escape Sequence 6:
Task11: Playing chess by Tom
Task12: Funny task using line follower
Trap Escape 6:
Tom makes a phone call to mouse trappers and finally Jerry gets trapped with the help of them.
Finally Tom again starts its celebration by triggering crackers.

Unique or salient features of our contraption module:
The special uniqueness about our contraption is that the path we have designed for tom and jerry. The very
initial path tom moves on is a complexly designed tubes path over which the general probability for perfect
movement of ball is only 50% but we have made 100% probable.
The other interesting feature is that display boards that would be triggered by Tom and Jerry to make it a
effective and lively since we are using balls for these characters.
The very initial triggering of the balls in our contraption itself is interesting.
Different types of materials used for the paths.
Above all these, our lively approach makes our contraption more interesting and exciting.
