Residents Forum<br />

• Increase understanding among residents about what MFM fellowships entail.<br />

Social Events<br />
An Opening Reception combined with the opening of the Exhibits will be held<br />
on Wednesday, February 13, from 6:00 – 8:00pm, providing an opportunity <strong>for</strong> all<br />
attendees to meet and mingle in<strong>for</strong>mally over drinks and light hors d’ouevres.<br />
For the fourth year, there will be a silent auction to benefit the Pregnancy<br />
Foundation! The Opening Reception is the place to be <strong>for</strong> all meeting attendees<br />
and we encourage attendees and exhibitors alike to participate in the SMFM<br />
Foundation’s silent auction. The Foundation is looking <strong>for</strong> donations such as<br />
jewelry, gift certificates, wine, electronics, art, memorabilia, tickets, appliances,<br />
and other luxury items! Consider asking your suppliers or favorite local<br />
businesses to donate items. Last year generous donors contributed their time<br />
and ef<strong>for</strong>t to making the silent auction a rousing success, and we are looking<br />
<strong>for</strong>ward to another wonderful year! To make a contribution to the silent auction,<br />

New! The Pregnancy Foundation is hosting a 40th Anniversary Dinner<br />
celebrating Dr. Edward Quilligan and the Founders of MFM. The dinner,<br />
with live entertainment, will be held on Thursday, February 14 in the Imperial<br />
Ballroom from 7:30pm – 10:30pm. Space is limited so buy your ticket now!<br />

On Thursday, February 14, from 6:30– 7:30pm, there will be a reception <strong>for</strong> MFM<br />
Fellows-in-training. This event is by invitation only and will immediately follow<br />
the Associate Member’s meeting which will be held from 6:00 – 6:30pm.<br />
On Friday night, from 6:30 – 7:00pm, the President’s Award Ceremony is an<br />
opportunity to welcome the SMFM’s newest Honorary Member, Achievement<br />
Award recipient, Pregnancy Foundation/AAOGF Scholarship Award winner, and<br />
to cheer as the best oral and poster presentations (as judged through Friday)<br />
are announced. The President’s Award Ceremony will immediately follow the<br />
presentation by 2013 Honorary Member Dr. Michael Lu (5:45 – 6:30pm) and the<br />
second annual “Late-Breaking Research” presentations (5:15 – 5:45pm).<br />

Located in Grand Ballroom B adjacent to the poster presentations, and the West<br />
Lounge between the Yosemite registration area and the Continental ballrooms,<br />
the Industry Exhibits are designed to in<strong>for</strong>m attendees about commercially<br />
available products and services that are related to maternal–fetal medicine. The<br />
SMFM values the educational contribution made by our Industry Exhibitors and<br />
encourages you to attend this important part of the meeting.<br />

Exhibits Open on Wednesday Evening!<br />
In 2013, the opening of the exhibits will be combined with Wednesday evening’s<br />
Opening Reception in the Grand Ballroom. Once again <strong>for</strong> the 2013 exhibit<br />
portion of the meeting is the Exhibit Passport Program where attendees receive<br />
“passports” at registration and obtain an exhibitor stamp at each booth they<br />
visit. Once they obtain stamps from at least 20 different exhibitors, they can<br />
enter <strong>for</strong> prize drawings. Prize offerings include electronics, software, and<br />
meeting registrations. This is the only national meeting where you will have<br />
the opportunity to see new services, equipment, and technologies especially<br />
showcased <strong>for</strong> maternal-fetal medicine subspecialists.<br />
<strong>Meeting</strong> Cancellation Policy<br />
Written cancellations postmarked by January 18, 2013 will be refunded<br />
less a $75.00 processing fee. REFUNDS WILL NOT BE MADE FOR<br />
CANCELLATIONS RECEIVED AFTER THAT TIME. All refunds will be issued<br />
after the meeting.<br />
Additional In<strong>for</strong>mation<br />
Registration fees <strong>for</strong> the Scientific Sessions include Continental breakfast and<br />
breaks. The Wednesday Evening Reception and Friday’s President’s Award<br />
Ceremony are open to you and your spouse/guest. Back by popular demand<br />
are the Luncheon Roundtables, featuring presentations by authorities in the<br />
specialty. Topics will cover current controversies and concerns in <strong>Maternal</strong>-<strong>Fetal</strong><br />
<strong>Medicine</strong>. Attendance at each session is limited, so pre-registration is essential.<br />
The registration fee <strong>for</strong> the Roundtable Luncheons includes a box-lunch,<br />
beverage, handout, and the opportunity to hear some of the most respected<br />
names in MFM discuss today’s “hot button” issues.<br />

Electronic posters will be available <strong>for</strong> viewing throughout the meeting in the<br />
Yosemite Foyer. Come by to see this addition to the SMFM <strong>Annual</strong> <strong>Meeting</strong>.<br />

the postgraduate courses, workshops and symposia, special interest groups,<br />
and luncheon roundtables and registration is on a first come, first serve basis. In<br />
addition, those registering after January 18, 2013 pay an additional $150 <strong>for</strong> late/<br />
