On behalf of the <strong>Art</strong> Dealers Association of Canada (ADAC), it is with great pleasure<br />
that I welcome you to <strong>Art</strong> <strong>Toronto</strong> <strong>2013</strong>.<br />
Now in its fourteenth year, <strong>Art</strong> <strong>Toronto</strong> has grown to become a major player in the<br />
international art fair circuit. <strong>Art</strong> dealers, collectors and art lovers from all over the<br />
globe congregate here, and it provides an unparalleled opportunity to build longlasting<br />
connections and present the vitality of the Canadian art market.<br />
This has been an important year for Canadian art as well as the market globally,<br />
as we see the market strengthen and grow despite continuing economic uncertainties.<br />
We at the <strong>Art</strong> Dealers Association of Canada have taken this opportunity to strengthen<br />
our relationships between Canadian dealers, artists, art market professionals,<br />
scholars, and collectors around the globe. We continue to build on our reputation<br />
as the central hub of art market knowledge within Canada.<br />
As a national, professional association of art dealers, the ADAC is delighted to see<br />
many of our members here from all over the country. From coast to coast, <strong>Art</strong> <strong>Toronto</strong><br />
reflects an array of what Canadian galleries have to offer, including historical pieces,<br />
modern masters and cutting edge contemporary works, all placed within an international<br />
context.<br />
This year the ADAC is proud to present our ‘Canadian Abstract Past and Present’<br />
pavilion, celebrating the 60th anniversary of the formation of Painters Eleven.<br />
We also continue our popular Trust the Experts tours, held daily and led by our<br />
members, which this year will highlight historical art, modern works and a West<br />
coast perspective on contemporary art. We also hope that you can join us at our<br />
panel on Sunday ‘The Fine <strong>Art</strong> of Estate Planning: What to Consider when Building<br />
your Collection’.<br />
We would like extend our congratulations to Linel Rebenchuk and the Informa Canada<br />
team who have once again successfully brought together a spectrum of galleries<br />
and world class artistic talent. We know that you will enjoy all that <strong>Art</strong> <strong>Toronto</strong> <strong>2013</strong><br />
has to offer and we look forward to welcoming you at the ADAC Pavilion.<br />
