Pet Health and Grooming<br />
Do you love animals? Would your pets enjoy a day at the spa<br />
or an overnight hotel stay? Explore what it takes and sharpen<br />
your skills to work in the pet grooming & boarding industry.<br />
Students will learn to perform animal grooming duties such<br />
as washing, brushing, clipping, and trimming coats, cutting<br />
nails, and cleaning ears. Enjoy the challenge of feeding and<br />
watering animals according to schedules and dietary instructions<br />
and collecting and recording animal information such as<br />
weight, size, and physical condition. Proper documentation of<br />
treatments received, medications given, and food intake will<br />
also be covered. Put your pet-loving skills to work for you!<br />

Veterinary Science<br />
Are you thinking about obtaining a Doctor of Veterinary<br />
Medicine degree or becoming a Veterinary Technician? This<br />
may be the ideal place for you to start. This course will offer<br />
students the opportunity to acquire advanced animal principles,<br />
know and respect diversity in the animal kingdom, and become<br />
animal advocates for animal welfare on all levels encompassing<br />
family pets, domestic livestock and wild life resources.<br />
Students will be prepared for advanced post-secondary level<br />
education in animal science, biology, and/or zoology. This<br />
course will also incorporate research methods to perform in<br />
depth studies of the anatomy and physiology of a variety of<br />
animal species, science labs, and advanced communication<br />
and critical thinking skills. This course is open to high school<br />
and adult students. This course is a prerequisite for Veterinary<br />
Assistant.<br />
