Vidyapeetha Accredited at the A+ Level by NAAC.
The National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) has accredited the
Vidyapeetha at the A+ Level in August, 2003.
SALIENT FEATURES
Teaching and Learning Facilities : The Vidyapeetha has introduced centres of learning
such as Functional Sanskrit Centre, Computer Laboratory, Language Laboratory etc. The
computer laboratory exposes the staff and students to the various programmes related to
Computer learning. The Functional Sanskrit Centre has played a major role in preparing a
comprehensive curriculum and in imparting training to the learners on functional Sanskrit.
The new multimedia language laboratory offers an opportunity to the students to learn English
through the use of software. These centres act as major resources for the learners. Learning
becomes a tapasya at the lotus feet of Lord Venkateswara, the Lord of Seven Hills.
UGC’s Innovative Programmes : The Vidyapeetha is awarded with two innovative
programmes - (1) Sabdabodha Systems and Language Technology (2) Yoga Therapy and
Stress Management (3) Comparative Aesthetics.
With the financial assistance from the UGC, the Vidyapeetha has been offering a PG
Course in Sabdabodha Systems and Language Technology , P.G.Diploma in Yoga Therapy
and Stress Management and Comparative Aesthetics. The University has also been conducting
research and training programmes in the thrust areas of the two programmes.
Remedial and JRF-NET Coaching Centres : The Vidyapeetha has started Remedial
coaching centre and JRF-NET coaching centre for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and
Minority students from the academic year 2007-2008 with the financial assistance from
University Grants Commission. These two coaching centres have been involved in holding
classes for the students belonging to SC, ST and Minority categories. The students belonging
to other categories and who are in need are also permitted to attend the coaching classes.
Research and Publications : The Research and Publications Department of the University
has brought out more than 165 valuable publications on Veda, Vedanta, Agama, Jyotisha,
Nyaya, Vyakarana, Sahitya, Education, Sanskrit-Science as also textbooks and other
reference books in English and other subjects and four CD-ROM’s like Sanskrit Learning
CD for beginners, Granthalipi Bodhini and Vacaspatyam. A research journal Mahasvini is
being published bi-annually. The Vidyapeetha has been putting its best efforts in bringing out
publications in the rich scientific knowledge hidden in Sanskrit literature through Samskrita
Vijnana Vaibhavam Series. Semushi is a Vidyapeetha News Letter published bi-montlhy.
