MEMORIAL SERVICE to celebrate the life of Bob Wenger,<br />
brother of Paul Wenger, who died on April 22, 2012, will be<br />
held on Saturday, June 30, 2012, 11:00 a.m., at Springdale<br />
<strong>Mennonite</strong> <strong>Church</strong>, Waynesboro, Virginia.<br />
BABY SHOWER will be held on Sunday, July 8, 2:30 p.m., to<br />
celebrate the birth of Alex Eugene Miller, son of Mark & Lisa<br />
Miller. The shower is sponsored by <strong>Sonnenberg</strong> <strong>Mennonite</strong><br />
Women, and all women and girls are welcome to attend.<br />
VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL begins this evening, June 17,<br />
6:30-8:40 p.m. Theme is Take Me to the Water–God’s Love<br />
Flows. Remember the leaders and children as they participate<br />
in the variety of activities this week related to water. See<br />
today’s issue of Sojourns for more details about the week.<br />
OUTREACH & SERVICE MINISTRY:<br />
! FINANCIAL SUPPORT is needed for Olivia Ressler and<br />
Rowena Zuercher who will be serving for seven weeks with<br />
the Summer Enrichment Camp at Lighthouse Ministries in<br />
Canton. $3,750.00 is needed. Checks can be written to<br />
“<strong>Sonnenberg</strong> <strong>Mennonite</strong> <strong>Church</strong>”, earmarked for “Ressler/<br />
Zuercher support” and placed in the regular offering.<br />
! HELP SEND JEAN’S KIDS TO CAMP LUZ: Help<br />
support Jean Hershberger’s vision to send children from<br />
Yontz Elementary School in Canton to Camp Luz this<br />
summer. Jean’s vision for this mission continues to grow.<br />
Prayerfully consider how you can help with this exciting<br />
project. Earmark checks for “Camp Luz–Jean’s Kids.”<br />
! PENNY POWER JUG will be in the foyer through the end<br />
of July to collect your change for the August Relief Sale.<br />
Penny Power funds go to support a variety of MCC water<br />
projects. Your help in filling our jug will be much<br />
appreciated. See brochures in church mailboxes today for<br />
more information.<br />
CHURCH BUDGET UPDATE: We are presently about 5%<br />
below budget which translates to about $9,500.00. To make<br />
our budget goal we need $5,063.00 per Sunday – (11 Sundays<br />
left in this fiscal year). Expenses are running a little under, so<br />
that will help, but we expect some expenses in the last quarter<br />
that will bring us close to budget plans. Prayerfully consider<br />
how you might be able to give to help us make up this budget<br />
deficit at this time.<br />
QUILT DISPLAY: Be sure to see the quilts displayed in the<br />
foyer this morning which will be donated from <strong>Sonnenberg</strong> to<br />
the Relief Sale in August.<br />
