medication; Anna Knutson has completed radiation
treatments, chemotherapy will continue through June. Visit

therapy; Freeman Lehman has been diagnosed with multiple
myeloma, a cancer of the bone marrow–due to the seriousness
of the situation, the family has requested no visitors or phone
calls until further notice–they are working with doctors to make
decisions regarding Freeman’s future care and treatment plan;
A.J. Conrad is recovering from bunion surgery.

as they live in community and serve others through the Chicago
Community Mennonite Church literacy and youth programs at
Erie Neighborhood House in Chicago.

HAPPY FATHER’S DAY! We are thankful today for our
fathers who love and guide us through each step of our lives.
Be sure to take time today to tell your father, or someone who
is like a father to you, just how special they are. Fathers, enjoy
this special day with the ones you love.
THANK YOU for your overwhelming response to the carry-in
meal last Sunday...for all the food you brought and for the help
that was given to clean up following the meal at Kidron
Evergreen Park. –The Food Committee
MEMORIAL SERVICE to celebrate the life of Bob Wenger,
brother of Paul Wenger, who died on April 22, 2012, will be
held on Saturday, June 30, 2012, 11:00 a.m., at Springdale
Mennonite Church, Waynesboro, Virginia.
BABY SHOWER will be held on Sunday, July 8, 2:30 p.m., to
celebrate the birth of Alex Eugene Miller, son of Mark & Lisa
Miller. The shower is sponsored by Sonnenberg Mennonite
Women, and all women and girls are welcome to attend.
VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL begins this evening, June 17,
6:30-8:40 p.m. Theme is Take Me to the Water–God’s Love
Flows. Remember the leaders and children as they participate
in the variety of activities this week related to water. See
today’s issue of Sojourns for more details about the week.
OUTREACH & SERVICE MINISTRY:
! FINANCIAL SUPPORT is needed for Olivia Ressler and
Rowena Zuercher who will be serving for seven weeks with
the Summer Enrichment Camp at Lighthouse Ministries in
Canton. $3,750.00 is needed. Checks can be written to
“Sonnenberg Mennonite Church”, earmarked for “Ressler/
Zuercher support” and placed in the regular offering.
! HELP SEND JEAN’S KIDS TO CAMP LUZ: Help
support Jean Hershberger’s vision to send children from
Yontz Elementary School in Canton to Camp Luz this
summer. Jean’s vision for this mission continues to grow.
Prayerfully consider how you can help with this exciting
project. Earmark checks for “Camp Luz–Jean’s Kids.”
! PENNY POWER JUG will be in the foyer through the end
of July to collect your change for the August Relief Sale.
Penny Power funds go to support a variety of MCC water
projects. Your help in filling our jug will be much
appreciated. See brochures in church mailboxes today for
more information.
CHURCH BUDGET UPDATE: We are presently about 5%
below budget which translates to about $9,500.00. To make
our budget goal we need $5,063.00 per Sunday – (11 Sundays
left in this fiscal year). Expenses are running a little under, so
that will help, but we expect some expenses in the last quarter
that will bring us close to budget plans. Prayerfully consider
how you might be able to give to help us make up this budget
deficit at this time.
QUILT DISPLAY: Be sure to see the quilts displayed in the
foyer this morning which will be donated from Sonnenberg to
the Relief Sale in August.
