MEMBERSHIP STRATEGIC OUTCOME<br />
<strong>Soroptimist</strong> will be a thriving, dynamic, progressive and relevant organization of members<br />
committed to the mission of improving the lives of women and girls in local communities and<br />
throughout the world.<br />
MEMBERSHIP GOALS<br />
1. Objective ‐ <strong>Founder</strong> <strong>Region</strong> will maintain existing clubs<br />
Strategies<br />
A. <strong>Region</strong> leadership will work with clubs in low membership to develop a recruitment<br />
and retention plan<br />
B. Clubs will be encouraged to develop a club strategic plan that will keep the club<br />
leadership focused on the goals and objectives supported by members<br />
C. Clubs will be encouraged to assess the health of their club through club surveys<br />
2. Objective‐ There will be a net membership gain of 10%<br />
Strategies<br />
A. Membership workshops will be conducted at region conference, district meetings,<br />
and leadership training<br />
B. <strong>Region</strong> board and membership committee will develop and implement a<br />
membership challenge to reward members who sponsor new members<br />
3. Objective‐ Retention Rate will increase to or remain at 95% annually<br />
Strategies<br />
A. Encourage clubs to provide education for members in orientation, history, and<br />
protocol. Ideas for this education program will be provided by region leadership, by<br />
clubs sharing best practices, and other resources.<br />
B. Membership committee will conduct workshops or other activities using the<br />
Recruitment and Retention resources on the SIA website.<br />
4. Objective ‐ Increase the pool of qualified candidates for elected and appointed leadership<br />
positions. Assure that region board and club officers are oriented to their role and know the<br />
resources available to them.<br />
Strategies<br />
A. Conduct region board and officer training biannually to ensure that newly‐elected<br />
board members know their role and available resources.<br />
B. Conduct workshops to develop leadership skills at leadership training, district<br />
meetings, presidents’ roundtable meetings, and for members within each district
