Host Organisation

Dear Colleague,

As General Chair, I invite you and your colleagues to showcase your technical

solutions, innovations, and know-how at the Society of Petroleum Engineers

Annual Technical Conference and Exhibition (ATCE) in Amsterdam from

27 to 29 October 2014.

Welcome From the General Chair

Since the first conference 90 years ago, ATCE has established itself as the

foremost technical conference in oil and gas exploration and production. Over

the years more than half a million senior executives, engineers, managers,

and scientists have gathered to share technical knowledge, gain insights from

industry experts, and network with colleagues from around the world.

With activity levels within the industry at an all-time high, the need for a

forum enabling the exchange of high quality technical information has never

been more acute. ATCE represents the very best in technical know-how

with more than 350 of the highest calibre peer-selected technical papers in

the industry covering current applications and emerging technologies and

practices within all phases of E&P. As with previous meetings, the technical

programme of ATCE 2014 will embrace this tradition of excellence and

draw on the expertise of leading international oil and gas professionals. The

conference will provide an unparalleled gathering for developing and sharing

ideas supported by activities for students and young professionals, training

courses, and networking events.

For only the second time in the event’s long and distinguished history, ATCE

in 2014 will take place outside North America. I am delighted that Amsterdam

will host the event at the RAI, a world-class convention centre located in

the heart of the city. The venue will host the major exhibition that will take

place concurrently with the conference showcasing the latest technologies,

new product launches, and valuable industry services from more than 450

exhibitors from around the world.

Whether your goal is to discover new insights into the industry, foster

relationships, or showcase your products and services, ATCE 2014 will provide

an unmatched opportunity.

Shell is proud to be hosting the 90th ATCE and we look forward to meeting

you in Amsterdam.
