POSITION DESCRIPTION

Liaise closely with local authorities, funders, and key
recreational facilities.
Contribute to creating positive awareness of Sport Central’s
FMS programmes and physical activity options within the
community.
Develop media links to ensure effective advocacy messages
and coverage of Sport Central FMS, sport and physical activity
programmes, and other community based physical activity
options.

Provide expertise/advice on sport and community based
physical activities to Local Authorities, funding agencies, and
key decision-makers within the Central Otago region.
Effectively advocate for initiatives and principles that are
consistent with Sport Central’s aims and objectives.
Accurately maintain management plan, required records, and
reports.
Provide required monthly reports against Key Performance
Indicators to Sport Central Coordinator – Sport and Education,
Sport Otago Development and Capability Manager, and Sport
Otago Chief Executive.
Demonstrate and implement best practice processes and
procedures for Sport Central programmes and initiatives.
Encourage others to develop best practice processes and
systems for the delivery of community and workplace based
physical activity programmes.
Person Specification:
• Knowledge of the sport, education (early childhood and primary school), and recreation sectors
in Central Otago and Queenstown Lakes districts.
• Experience in the development, delivery, and teaching of programmes and initiatives.
• Have exceptional communication, presentation, and inter-personal skills.
• Have excellent time management and organisational ability.
• Have the ability to motivate and have empathy with volunteers.
• Have the ability to create strong community networks.
• Have a high level of initiative.
