Day 1: Varadero / Havana
Arrive at Varadero international airport. Transfer
to the 4 star Hotel Comodoro in Havana. Check in,
then an evening meal will be served in the hotel.
Day 2: Havanna (60 km)
Breakfast, followed by a city tour through Havana’s
colonial Old Town. To begin with we will visit the
famous Hotel Nacional and sample the views of
the water front of the Malecón.
Continuing with the programme: the Capitol Building,
Plaza de Armas, the city museum, Plaza de la Catedral
and Palacio de la Artesania. We will be greeted
in Hemingway’s Bodeguita del Medio with a cocktail.
Lunch will be take place in the early 20th century
Restaurant El Patio.
Then you will have time to immerse yourself in
the alleyways of Havana’s Old Town. After a
short visit to the fort complex; El Morro, we
will continue into modern Havana to the
Plaza de la Revolución, a place that will
invite you to speak with your tour guide
about Cuba’s and Havana’s history
old and new.
Return journey to the hotel and
evening meal. You can then
attend the Tropicana Show
or the mediaeval cannon
display, both optional.
Day 3: Havanna - Viñales (205km)
Breakfast. Travel in the direction of Viñales, to Pinar
del Rio, then a sightseeing tour of the cigar factory
and the famous liquor factory; La Guayabita Del Pinar.
Your journey continues further into the Viñales Valley
with a photo stop at the Hotel Los Jazmines. We will
then visit the prehistoric cave paintings at Cueva de
los Cimarrones and Taita.
Lunch will be served in the cave restaurant Palenque
de los Cimarrones. On the return journey to Havana
we will pass the tobacco plantations and stop overnight
in the countryside, at either the Hotel Soroa or
Hotel Mirador de San Diego de los Baños, where an
evening meal will be served.
Day 4: Soroa - Santa Clara (382km)
Breakfast. Sightseeing of the orchid farm and waterfall,
where you will enjoy this small paradise of Cuban
fauna and flora from its western side. For lunch you
will continue further to Santa Clara.
We will then visit the city of Che Guevara with its
mausoleum and the Che Guevara Museum. You will
have and evening meal and stop overnight at either
Hotel La Granjita or Hotel Los Caneyes, both in
Santa Clara.
Day 5: Santa Clara - Trinidad
(105km)
Breakfast. Trip to Trinidad, where en route we will
visit Sugar Mill Valley and the Slave Watchtower
at Managa Iznaga. On foot we will explore colonial
Trinidad; the Romantic Museum and the Plaza Mayor,
being refreshed along the way at Bar Canchanchara
with its typical drink of the same name. For lunch
we will stay in the city where you will also have some
free time for yourself. In the evening we will visit a
small beach on Cuba’s south coast and check in at
All Inclusive Club Amigo Costa Sur.
Day 6: Trinidad
Today is a free day to enjoy. You can relax at the
beach or undertake with us one of our optional excursions
to the nearby hiking area of Sierra Escambray:
Jeep tour Topes De Collantes (43 CUC), Nature Park
El Cubano (45 CUC) or the Caburni waterfall (29 CUC).
Accommodation will be provided in the All Inclusive
Club Amigo Costa Sur.
Day 7:
Sancti Spiritus - Camaguey (184km)
Breakfast. We will journey to Camaguey for local
sightseeing and to visit Agramonte Park. Lunch will
be served in one of the local restaurants. You will
then check in to either the Gran Hotel or the Colon
Hotel, both in Camaguey. Evening meal is optional.
Day 8:
Camaguey - Bayamo - Santiago
(220km)
Breakfast. Travel to Bayamo. There we will visit the city
in which the country’s national anthem was written.
We will visit Parque Cespedes and then set off in the
direction of Santiago de Cuba. A must for every visitor
of Cuba is the holy site of El Cobre with its Church the
Basilica del Cobre. We will have lunch en route. On
arrival at this most Caribbean of cities we will check
in at either the Hotel los Versalles/ Hotel las Americas
where an evening meal will be served.
Day 9: Santiago
de Cuba (120km)
Bayamo
Breakfast. All day city tour through Santiago de Cuba,
visiting all the important places of history in the city:
Plaza de la Revolucion Antonio
Maceo, the History
Museum “26
de Julio” (26th
of July), Plaza
Cespedes, Casa
de la Trova and
Morro Castle. You
will have lunch in
the city followed
by some free time,
to allow the charm
of this carnival city
take effect on you.
Evening meal with then be served
in the hotel and afterwards
there will be the opportunity of
visiting the Tropicana cabaret
bar or the Santiago Café, both
optional.
Day 10: Santiago -
Holguin (200km)
Santiago de Cuba
Havanna
Breakfast then a little free time. On the afternoon
we will set off to Holguin where we will embark on
another small city-tour to finish off with. We will then
continue on to Holguin airport or for an extended
beach holiday at Guardalavaca.
Transfers from Guardalavaca to the airport are
available upon request.
