A new brew to replace Original, with a Chestnut-brown standard bitter<br />

colour but a non-standard flavour; great taste, depth and flavour.<br />

Ginger Nol (4.7% ABV)<br />

Deep amber in colour; an unusual blend of smoked malt barley and root<br />

ginger creates an amazingly complex but satisfying flavour.<br />

Signature (4.4% ABV)<br />

An award winning light-coloured beer; this best bitter with distinctive hop<br />

notes was launched at this beer festival in 2004.<br />

Smoky Nol (4.7% ABV)<br />

A derivation of Ginger Nol; this has a deep, and satisfying smokey flavour.<br />

Deeply warming for long winter nights.<br />

Black William Stout (5.0% ABV)<br />

This has a rich black colour with a creamy head. Brewed with Target hops<br />

and chocolate malt which contributes a dark chocolate aroma and roast<br />

flavours.<br />

Merry Andrew (6.2% ABV)<br />

This is a dark strong ale with a complex aroma and a good balanced,<br />

rounded flavour. Initial sweetness nicely balanced by dryer middle and end.<br />

Ropetackle Golden Ale (3.4% ABV)<br />

This a light refreshing Golden ale with an initial sweetness and delicate<br />

aroma which leads to a dry finish.<br />

Velocity (4.4% ABV)<br />

A traditional English bitter with a fresh flavour, brewed with addition of a<br />

handful of German Hallertauer hops just before fermentation.


ARUNDEL<br />

Arundel Castle (3.8% ABV)<br />

Pale and tawny with fruit and malt noticeable in the aroma. The flavour has a<br />

good balance of malt, fruit and hops, with a dry bitter finish.<br />

Old Knucker (4.6% ABV)<br />

In this very dark old ale, Malt dominates the initial taste but leads on to a<br />

bittersweet coffee finish.<br />

<strong>Sussex</strong> Gold (4.2% ABV)<br />

A golden-coloured best bitter with a strong floral hop aroma. The ale is clean<br />

tasting and surprisingly bitter with a tangy citrus flavour and long, dry finish.<br />

<strong>Sussex</strong> Mild (3.7% ABV)<br />

A dark mild with strong chocolate and roast aromas, which lead to a bitter<br />

taste. Slight aftertaste where the initial flavours remain in the dry clean finish.<br />

Trident (5.0% ABV)<br />

A strong pale ale; golden in colour with a slightly vinous aroma.<br />

This is an amber-coloured, clean tasting bitter. A roast malt aroma leads to<br />

a fruity, slightly sweet taste and dry finish.<br />

Midhurst Mild (3.5% ABV)<br />

Traditional dark mild, well-balanced; refreshing with a biscuity flavour.<br />

Nyewood Gold (5.0% ABV)<br />

Robust golden brown strong bitter very hoppy and fruity throughout with a<br />

tasty balanced finish.<br />

Wild (4.7% ABV)<br />

This is a brewery blend of Mild and the 6% ABV Wassail - hence the name.<br />

Beachy Original (4.2% ABV)<br />

A traditional English bitter brewed with floor malted barley and hops from<br />

English producers. It has a hoppy flavour with light floral notes.<br />

Legless Rambler (5.2% ABV)<br />

This ale uses the brambling cross hops which give it a distinct flavour.The<br />

name is given in tribute to all those who walk the wonderful South Downs<br />

Way from Winchester to Beachy Head and celebrate accordingly.<br />

Low Tide (3.1% ABV)<br />

DARK STAR<br />

American Pale Ale (4.7% ABV)<br />

An American yeast strain along with strong flavoured Chinook and<br />

and Centennial hops are used in the recipe for this golden, dry, hoppy<br />

beer. Voted best golden ale at CAMRA’S 2009 CBOB Awards<br />

Espresso (4.2% ABV)<br />

A black beer brewed with roasted barley malt and Challenger hops with<br />

freshly ground espresso coffee beans also added to the copper for a few<br />

minutes after the boil to provide a rich and complementary coffee aroma.


Hophead (3.8% ABV)<br />

A golden-coloured bitter with a fruity/hoppy aroma and a citrus/bitter taste<br />

and aftertaste. Wonderfully hoppy and clean tasting with a refreshing mouth<br />

feel. Flavours remain strong to the end.<br />

Imperial Stout (10.5% ABV)<br />

A rich Russian Export style stout with a sweet aroma. It has liquorice, coffee,<br />

roasted malt and chocolate flavours. Complex with full flavour.<br />

This is our strongest beer; please treat it with utmost respect.<br />

Six Hop Ale (6.5% ABV)<br />

Brewed with five different hop varieties in the copper and then dry hopped<br />

after fermentation; this pale beer is designed for those who like their hops as<br />

an extreme sport.<br />

This is yellow-coloured pale ale has a citrus and wheat aroma. Fruit is<br />

present in the taste with a gentle bitter finish.<br />

Madgwick Gold (5.0% ABV)<br />

A golden ale with a fresh citrus / spice hop flavour and nose. Very<br />

drinkable with a refreshing thirst quenching finish.<br />

Red Hunter (4.3% ABV)<br />

Deep mahogany to ruby red bitter. A full bodied rich and slightly<br />

vinous malt character soundly balanced with finest English hops.<br />

Meteor (3.8% ABV)<br />

A chestnut coloured session bitter with a combination of malts giving a depth of<br />

character. Smooth in the mouth yet with a hop character that gives a pleasant<br />

1859 Porter (4.8% ABV)<br />

This is brewed to a 1859 recipe, coffee and hop notes are dominant in the<br />

taste and the long finish.<br />

Cooper’s (6.0% ABV)<br />

A new strong ale brewed for this festival; sorry no tasting notes available yet.<br />

Lewes Castle Brown Ale (4.8% ABV)<br />

A traditional full malty “Brown Ale” with a creamy head. Mild hop notes with a<br />

lingering biscuity sweet palate provide coffee and liquorice notes. It has a<br />

bitter-sweet finish.


Star Of Eastbourne (6.5% ABV)<br />

A strong old-style India Pale Ale reminiscent of those brewed in the 19 th<br />

Century. It has a full hop aroma, golden coloured body and the bitterness<br />

lingers on the palate giving a dry finish.<br />

This beer is a delicious mild with crystal & chocolate malt tones.<br />

There’s a fruity, toffee aroma to this light brown, full-bodied bitter.Citrus<br />

flavour balanced by caramel and malt leads to a clean dry finish.<br />

Prospect (4.5% ABV)<br />

Brewed from natural organic ingredients including <strong>Sussex</strong> Barley malt,<br />

Golding and Admiral hops which provide a well-balanced bitter beer.<br />

Traditional <strong>Sussex</strong> Bitter (3.6% ABV)<br />

A fine clean-tasting amber session beer. A pleasant fruity and hoppy aroma<br />

chocolate to balance. Dry short finish.<br />

Honey Fuzz (3.8% ABV)<br />

Hip Hop Green Bullet (4.3% ABV)<br />

Very hoppy, giving a high level of bitterness.<br />

Spanked Monkey I.P.A (6.4% ABV)<br />

Fruity pine hop aroma, golden coloured with floral hop flavour. Features the<br />

hops and bitterness round off the beer.<br />

5am Saint (5.0% ABV)<br />

Intense hoppy aroma, red/amber colour, pine and hops taste; dry end.<br />

Hardcore IPA (9.0% ABV)<br />

4 different hop varieties provide extreme bitterness providing a roller-coaster<br />

of flavour.<br />

Punk IPA (6.0% ABV)<br />

This IPA is light gold in colour with tropical fruits and light caramel in the aroma.<br />

The palate becomes assertive and resinous with the New Zealand hops balanced<br />

Burnished copper appearance, full-bodied and heavily hopped to give a<br />

zesty character. Malt flavour with caramel and roast, long aftertaste.<br />

Black Imp (4.7% ABV)<br />

Brewed in the basement of the pub; a dark nut-brown beer with a sweet<br />

roasted malt aroma. The flavour has caramel, roast malt and nutty notes.<br />

Dry and very roasted finish.<br />

Bronze (4.5% ABV)<br />

This ale has rich bronze colour and a full-bodied character with Crystal<br />

maltiness. A lovely delicate sweetness develops into a long hop finish.<br />

Astronomy Ruby Ale (4.9% ABV)<br />

This has a deep amber/ruby colour with fruit, nuts, wood and some toast<br />

notes in the aroma. Taste is the same with a nice balance and a berry-fruit<br />

finish.<br />

Tawny (3.8% ABV)<br />

Well-balanced tawny coloured bitter with plenty of malt and fruitiness on the<br />

nose, and malt to the fore in the taste, followed by hop fruit, developing to a<br />

satisfying bitter finish.<br />

Gloucestershire’s Glory (4.1% ABV)<br />

A golden beer with a distinctive citrus hop aroma, mouth-filling malt and fruit<br />

with a deep dry finish.<br />

Amarillo (5.0% ABV)<br />

Brewed with the Amarillo variety hop - glorious smells and lasting spicy<br />

flavour.<br />

Slightly fruity aroma, initial smoothness leads to hop notes with a crisp and<br />
