Anderson was a DFL State Senator from District 19, serving on the<br />

Education, Finance, and Judiciary Committees. The majority of the<br />

collection deals with education, with some correspondence and newspaper<br />

7. Association of Central Minnesota Teachers of History. Records, (1971-80), 5<br />

in.<br />

The Association of Central Minnesota Teachers of History was established in<br />

1971, with the help of SCSU faculty, to establish a stronger bond between<br />

teachers of history in Central Minnesota and to strengthen the position of<br />

history in the programs of Central Minnesota schools. The organization was<br />

dissolved in 1980 with the formation of the Minnesota Association of History<br />

Teachers. The collection contains the Association’s constitution, meeting<br />

minutes, newsletter, newspaper clippings, correspondence, announcements,<br />

and newsletters from the Committee on History in the Classroom (1972-76).<br />

13. Brown, Andrew A. (1873-1938). Papers, (1866-1938), 1 in.<br />

Brown lived in Douglas County, where he dealt with real estate. Of particular<br />

interest in the collection is the correspondence from then-congressman John<br />

Lind. There are numerous land grants and certificates, along with a copy of<br />

15. Buscher, Dr. Julius, M.D. (1891-1963). Papers, (1919-63), 2.1 ft.<br />

Buscher was born in Germany in 1891 and served as a medical officer in the<br />

German Army in World War I. He came to St. Cloud in 1929 where he<br />

practiced medicine at the St. Cloud Hospital and the Veterans Hospital. The<br />

collection is mostly about medicine, with some correspondence, and items<br />

This large ledger holds entries and transactions for residents of the St. Cloud<br />

18. Charles, Russ and Ruth, Medicine Show. Papers, (1981-94), 2.5 in.<br />

Russ and Ruth Charles are St. Cloud natives who traveled with a medicine<br />

show early in their career and have produced their own traveling magic show<br />

since the 1940s. The collection consists of video tapes of their performance,<br />

an oral history interview, newspaper and magazine clippings, and<br />

miscellaneous photos, posters and brochures about Russ and Ruth and their<br />

39. International Eucharist Congress. (1926), two volumes.<br />

One of the volumes in this collection is a book prepared as a souvenir for the<br />

XXVIII International Eucharist Congress held in Chicago in 1926, the first<br />

International Eucharist Congress to be held in the United States. It gives a<br />

history of previous Congresses and Catholic Chicago. The other book, which<br />

was sponsored by the Burlington Rail of Chicago, describes the program of<br />

the Congress and explains various means of transportation and<br />

Kosloske was the mayor of Sauk Rapids, a state legislator, and also served<br />

43. Lorsung, Peter, Monsignor. Papers, (1935-56), 2.5 in.<br />

Monsignor Lorsung served as parish priest in several churches in Central<br />

Minnesota. The collection includes ordination materials, church reports, and<br />

Marshall was the U.S. Representative from District 6 from 1948 to 1960.<br />

Miller was a state representative from District 12A. He died shortly after his<br />

re-election in 1974. His papers include constituent correspondence,<br />

This collection consists of twenty-one issues of this publication series which<br />

was generated from a research program at the University of Minnesota<br />

which began in January 1966. The publications were prepared by the<br />

Department of Agricultural Economics, the Agricultural Extension Service,<br />

and the Agricultural Experiment Station. The issues were published on an<br />

irregular basis as the data was collected. This collection contains issues<br />

The Northwest Magazine was an illustrated monthly publication "devoted to<br />

western interest and progress." It was published in St. Paul, Minnesota, by<br />

Aloys John Tschumperlin was a long-time resident of St. Cloud. He was the<br />

proprietor of the largest furniture store, and the most important undertaking<br />

establishment in St. Cloud during the early 1900's. These papers include<br />

extensive records from both businesses, and a large section of<br />

Tschumperlin's mining interests near Ely, Nevada. Of note is a file on the<br />

Pan Motor Company and Tschumperlin's business affairs with it. {S57}<br />

This collection consists of two scrapbooks dealing with the home front effort<br />

during World War II. The first volume was compiled by the Victory Garden<br />

division of the Citizens' Service Corps (1943). The second volume contains<br />

103. Weber, Vin. 1 in.<br />

Vin Weber, a native of Slayton, Minnesota, was elected the 6th<br />

Congressional District Representative in 1980. Weber was 23 years old at<br />

the time, making him the second youngest Minnesotan elected to Congress.<br />

The collection consists of a Congressman Vin Weber: Working for You<br />

newspaper, various Weber newsletters from the early 1980s, and newspaper<br />

clippings concerning Weber's election to Congress. An interview with Weber<br />

104. Wegner, Herman A. (1877-1947) and Family. Papers, (1883-1953), 7.5 in.<br />

Herman Wegner worked on the Flathead Indian Reservation in Montana as<br />

a teacher, and on the Blackfeet Reservation as an engineer. He also did<br />

carpentry work and was employed at the St. Cloud Veterans Administration<br />

Hospital. His wife Christine was the sister of John Clawson and worked at<br />

the Department of the Interior Office in Minneapolis for many years. The<br />

collection contains various ledgers, school handbooks, account books,<br />

newspaper clippings, numerous deeds and mortgage papers, and<br />
