Our experience<br />

<strong>Steria</strong> works with public and private organisations across Europe<br />

and beyond, including the UK Ministry of Justice, Romanian Ministry<br />

of Administration and Interior, Danish and Norwegian customs<br />

authorities, French and Belgium interior ministries, Spanish<br />

ministries of labour, economy and health, and national police forces<br />

in 27 countries. Examples of such projects are shown below.<br />

Eurodac: Implementation and maintenance of the innovative<br />

Eurodac immigration control system for the European Commission.<br />

This improves the management of asylum requests through<br />

biometric processing of fingerprints in 25 countries.<br />

Schengen Information System (SIS II): As prime contractor<br />

for the project, <strong>Steria</strong>’s Schengen Information System provides<br />

reliable and exchangeable information about nationals of non-<br />

Schengen countries wishing to enter or live in the Schengen area.<br />

Visa Information System (VIS): A large-scale information<br />

system handling visa requests to enter European countries in the<br />

Schengen area.<br />

Norwegian Armed Forces: Support for operations, running<br />

modifications, maintenance and further development of<br />

operating tools.<br />

UKvisas: Supply of biometric recording equipment, verification<br />

equipment and hardware maintenance.<br />

Swedish Police: <strong>Steria</strong> has built one of the largest, most<br />

advanced virtual private networks (VPNs) in the world with over<br />

700 Secure Office Gateways protecting the systems within.<br />
