~VOLUNTEERS NEEDED~<br />
The Book & Gift Shop is looking for a few volunteers to help in the<br />
shop. Prior retail experience is preferred. Ability to use a computer<br />
is required. Stop by the shop for information and to complete an<br />

SCHOOL NEWS<br />
~ST. EUGENE’S SUMMER SCHOOL~<br />
St. Eugene’s School is once again offering a summer program for<br />
students who are entering first through eighth grades in the fall of<br />
<strong>2012</strong>. Our summer program is a five-week session beginning<br />
Monday, June 18 th and ending Friday, July 20 th . Please call the<br />
school office at 545-7252 for more information.<br />
~ST. EUGENE’S CATHEDRAL SCHOOL~<br />
St. Eugene’s Cathedral School is now registering for next year’s<br />
Kindergarten – 8 th grades. We offer an excellent academic<br />
education with a challenging curriculum integrated with gospel<br />
values. Please come by the school office to pick up an application<br />

~ST. EUGENE’S PRESCHOOL~<br />
The preschool is accepting applications for three, four and five<br />

SPIRITUAL ENRICHMENT CENTER<br />
~SPIRITUAL EXERCISES <strong>OF</strong> ST. IGNATIUS ~<br />
The Spiritual Enrichment Center invites you to join us for an<br />
introductory talk on the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius Loyola<br />
on Monday, <strong>May</strong> 21 st in the PLC at 7.30. This presentation is free<br />

~ANNUAL MINISTRY APPEAL REPORT~<br />
Only 302 households from St. Eugene’s are participating in the<br />
annual ministry appeal so far. If you haven’t yet pledged or given<br />
a donation to the AMA, envelopes are in the church vestibules. If<br />
you made a pledge for monthly payments to the <strong>2012</strong> AMA,<br />
reminders will be sent to you from the Diocese office. It is very<br />
important that these pledges be paid so that our parish will reach<br />
and hopefully exceed our goal. Once the pledge payments have<br />
exceeded the Diocese goal, all of the additional funds are applied<br />
to the parish goal and returned to us for our use. Status report as<br />

OUTREACH<br />
~HOST AN EXCHANGE STUDENT~<br />
Educational Homestay Programs wishes to invite all interested St.<br />
Eugene’s parishioners, to host an international high school student<br />
from June 27th to July 23rd this summer. We have over 150<br />
students coming from Norway, Denmark, Germany, Sweden,<br />
Spain, Russia and Italy. Students speak English, come fully<br />
insured, and bring their own spending money. Additionally, we<br />
will make a $25 donation to St. Eugene’s for every family that<br />

~HOST AN EXCHANGE STUDENT-CETUSA~<br />
CETUSA is a foreign exchange student organization that is looking<br />
for a family to open their home to Katherine, a Catholic 17 year old<br />
Ecuadorian student. Katherine will arrive in August <strong>2012</strong> to<br />
attend the local high school. She is a B student and plays the piano<br />
amongst other interests. She comes with her own spending money<br />
and insurance. If you could open your heart and home to<br />
Katherine or if you would like more information call Emily at 391-<br />

Jesus in The Blessed Sacrament awaits us day and night in our<br />
Chapel. Adorers are needed: Sunday midnight to-1 a.m., Monday<br />

~EXTRAORDINARY MINISTERS <strong>OF</strong><br />
HOLY COMMUNION~<br />
For the past month, our priests have been calling forth our<br />
Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion at the end of Mass,<br />
to bless them before they visit homes and facilities to distribute<br />
Holy Communion to our fellow parishioners who are unable to<br />
join us at the Cathedral. If you know of a parishioner who is<br />
unable to attend Mass and would like to receive Holy<br />
Communion, please contact Joyce Rehkugler at the parish office,<br />
542-6984.<br />
~RESPECT LIFE-MAY BLESSINGS~<br />
The Respect Life Committee has placed a large box in the front<br />
vestibule of the church, for your donations of gently used and new<br />
baby clothes and supplies, to be given to clients of Petaluma<br />
Birthright and Life Pregnancy Services. The box will remain in the<br />
church during the entire month of <strong>May</strong>. Your generosity will be<br />
appreciated by needy mothers and their children. Celebrate<br />
Mother's Day month by making a worthwhile donation. Thanks.<br />
YOUTH NEWS<br />
~YOUTH ROSARY BRACELET SALE~<br />
<strong>May</strong> is the month when we give special thanks for all mothers,<br />
especially our Mother Mary. To honor these women of faith, St.<br />
Eugene's Youth have been making special rosary bracelets. These<br />
will be for sale the two middle weekends of <strong>May</strong>: <strong>May</strong> 12-<strong>13</strong> and<br />
<strong>May</strong> 19-20, after all Masses. We are asking for a $5 donation to<br />
help support our youth ministry program. Thank you!<br />
~DIOCESAN SUMMER CAMPS ~<br />
The Diocese of Santa Rosa is sponsoring four camps this summer:<br />
Mustard Seed (for youth entering 6th grade), July 16-18;<br />
LIFT: Living in Faith Today (for youth entering 7th grade), July 19-<br />
21; RAD: Religious Adventure (for youth entering 8th or 9th<br />
grade) July 23-36; and Fusion (for youth entering grades 10<br />
through 12), July 28-31. Call the Diocese at 566-3343 for more info.<br />

Join us on Sunday after all the morning Masses in the Parish Life<br />
Center. Enjoy refreshments, meet fellow parishioners and enter the<br />
<strong>May</strong> Monthly Raffle for a prize basket.<br />
~KENYA ORPHANAGE FUNDRAISER~<br />
Carol Lueck of "Best Wishes" gift and card shop in the Rosewood<br />
Shopping center at 3080 Marlow Rd Ste A-8 in Santa Rosa will be<br />
hosting an event on Thursday, 5-17 during which she will be<br />
graciously donating 15% of all purchases to the orphanage fund<br />
for Mother Teresa's Missionaries of Charity in Nairobi, Kenya.<br />
Lorraine Cheli will be at the store from 9:30 am to 6:00 pm that<br />
day. If you are unable to attend you may still donate by making<br />
your check payable to Lorraine Cheli and mailing to 1945 Piner Rd<br />
#74, Santa Rosa Ca 95403. Thanks to the generosity of many we<br />
will be delivering 5 suitcases filled with baby/toddler clothing,<br />
blankets, baby formula, dental hygiene products, etc. as well as<br />
money to the sisters in Nairobi. Our dollar gives them great<br />
buying power in Kenya. Please come by and say hello and help us<br />
support this opportunity to benefit the poorest of the poor. Thank<br />
