A message from Horseware ® 

Some years ago Horseware ® launched the Amigo ® brand. The initial 

idea was that this would be a value for money, entry level product 

range. We applied the famous Horseware ® principles of quality and 

performance to this new brand and it has settled in the market place 

at a higher level with regards to perceived quality and value 

than originally intended. 

We still believe there is a market place for a super economy, mass 

market product offering. Given our manufacturing expertise and 

capacity, we are able to engineer a range of products to meet these 

challenging price points yet still deliver quality with exceptional value. 

With this in mind we have introduced the Amigo ® Mio range of 

products which we believe meets the criteria of a challenging market 

in these tough times. The Amigo ® Mio completes the Horseware ® 

stable of brands. We can now offer Rambo ® , Rhino ® , Amigo ® and 

Amigo ® Mio to meet the need to deliver quality products

The Split Technology of the Rambo ® Optimo Turnout Rug 

along with the unique features of the world famous Rambo ® 

has now moved to the stable, providing comfort and warmth. 

It is ideal for horses that spend the majority of their time 

indoors. Designed to take pressure from the withers & 

shoulder, horses can stay rugged for long periods without 

rubbing to the shoulder. This rug is also suitable for horses

The Rambo ® Plus Fly Mask 

After extensive research this product was launched in Beta 2011. We 

believe with increased marketing support it will become a ‘must have’ 

for 2012. Horseware ® now offer a complete range of fly masks from 

Rambo ® to Amigo ® Mio. Also launch at BETA was the Rambo ® and 

Amigo ® Flyriders and Rambo ® Fly boots. All of these products have 

exceeded our expectations and are sure winners for 2012. Page 11 

Amigo ® Aussie All Rounder 

10 years ago Horseware ® launched the Amigo ® Aussie 

All Rounder however it was ahead of it’s time. The 

market place had not realised the value of a water 

resistant rug to conserve the quality of the horse’s coat 

and protect against flies. With consumer awareness this 

is now a growing market. Page 15

The unique closure transfers pressure above the point of the 

shoulder, relieving any tightness and giving the horse even

The fit of your rug is extremely important in order to 

ensure the comfort of your horse and to prevent rubbing 

and slippage of the rug. As horses of the same height at the 

wither come in a variety of shapes and sizes, it is useful to 

take certain measurements of your horse. 

Measure from (A) at the centre point of the chest, over the 

high point of the shoulder, and to (B) at the centre of the 

tail. Then substract 4” for a turnout and 6” for a stable rug. 

When you have the measurement, choose the nearest from 

the table to the right.

Top Tips for Fitting your Rug 

- Belly surcingles should be adjusted to allow a hands width between straps and belly. 

- Keep in mind that the neck on the Rambo ® Wug is a higher fit, therefore the neck and chest area will be a snugger fit. 

- The trigger clips on the patented ‘V’ Front Closure System should always be closed with the clasp facing inwards. 

- Your hand should fit comfortably between the neck and shoulder areas and the rug. If not, the blanket could cause 

discomfort and rubbing. 

- If the rug extends beyond the top of the tail, the rug may be too big. If the rug does not reach the top of the tail, the rug 

may be too small. However, examine the neck and shoulder area for fit before making a decision to go for a different size. 

- Make sure that the tail is lifted over the fillet strap and that the strap is securely attached on both sides. This will prevent the 

rug from blowing forward. Where possible pull the tail through the strapping on the inside of the tail flap. 

- Horseware ® use standard 2 and 3 cross surcingles on all our rugs except for our coolers and the following products that use 

3 straight surcingles - Rambo ® Optimo, Amigo ® Bug Buster, Rambo ® Fly Buster, Rambo ® Sweetitch Hoody. 

- When closing the surcingles on a rug secure the middle one 1 st and then cross over the 2 outer surcingles.
