Portable Dimmers and Controllers need to be user-friendly and easy to set up. Some of our 

customers have limited power or lighting capabilities, so we offer a variety of small dimmer packs with controllers to help simplify things. 

With products available from CAE/Leprecon, NSI, Lightronics and others, we’re certain to have a small dimming and control package in 

stock for you. Remember, we also have a complete rental department, with many of the products you see in this sales catalog. Perhaps

CAE/Leprecon LP-612/LP624 Controller:This 

compact, easy-to-use memory console from Leprecon offers 

two scene preset mode operation with 12 or 24 channels (12 

channel LP-612 shown above); switchable Add or Solo bump 

buttons for each channel; and dipless crossfade between 

manual scenes. Presets may be “piled on” in any combination, 

assigned to any one of four memory pages. Preview mode 

allows cues to be checked without bringing up the scene on 

stage. An existing cue may be easily edited using the manual 

scene faders without re-recording the entire cue. Analog, DMX, 

and MPX control output options are available. 

CAE/Leprecon LD-340-HP Dimmer Pack: Whether 

you’re on a limited budget, or low available power, this little “shoebox” 

dimmer is easily connected to both wall outlet power sources and 

lighting fixture loads using standard edison connectors. The standard 

(non-HP) version requires only a single 20-amp circuit to power 

4 low capacity dimmers, while the HP version doubles the power 

capacity with an addtiional 20-amp power feed. The LD Series dimmer 

packs are also available in 360 and 360-HP versions, just like 

the LD-340, but with six dimmers instead of four. All LD dimmers are 

available with Analog, DMX, or Microplex control input options. 

NSI MC-7008/7016/7024 Consoles: NSI offers a 

complete slection of easy-to-use consoles and dimmer packs, 

like the NCM-7008 console shown at right. This 2-scene preset 

line of consoles, available in 8-, 16-, or 24 control channels, 

is perfect for the small production company when simplicity 

and no-frills value is needed. For more features and 

flexibility, upgrade to the MC-7516/7524/7532 line of memory 

consoles. The 7500 Series features 3 operational modes: 2 

scene manual, single scene with submasters, or wide mode 

for double the channel capacity. With cue stacking, SMPTE 

via MIDI, level sensitive chasing, and as much as 512 memory 

scene capability, the MC 7500 caters to a wide range of users. 

The encoder wheel and LCD readout make console setup 

and onboard editing quick and easy.

NSI DDS Dimmer Packs: With a wide 

selection of 4-dimmer packs and a variety of 

wattage ratings, there’s a DDS dimmer pack 

for your small theatrical or DJ application. Pairing 

perfectly with the MC series of consoles 

(shown above) these little packs are compact, 

tree-mountable, and require very little power

Portable dimmer packs and Touring racks are available in many configurations of size, power input, circuit output, and 

capacity. Portable packs are typically used in small temporary lighting systems and where site power may be limited, or where a compact 

dimmer pack size is required. Touring racks will accommodate larger lighting systems, and often require larger 3-phase power sources 

to operate. A consultation with our sales department may be required to determine your exact needs, but here are a few of the more 

commonly requested configurations. 

Strand Lighting CD-80 Pack: Available in 12 and 24-dimmer 

configurations, the CD-80 Dimmer Pack remains a favorite of 

rental and production companies alike, because of its compact size 

and robust construction. Control input options include AMX, DMX, 

and DC Analog. 

ETC Sensor Pack (SP12 shown): The Sensor Family of portable dimmer packs 

and installation racks from Electronic Theatre Controls sets the new standard in functionality, 

portability, and construction. The SP12 shown features twelve dual 20-amp dimmer modules 

for a total of 24 dimmers, in a compact yet durably constructed package. The MPE Multi- 

Protocol Electronics control module accepts 0-10V analog, AMX-192, and DMX control inputs 

providing versatility for the rental or production house. A variety of user-accessible self-test 

features allow ease of troubleshooting and testing on-site.

NSI/Colortran QTP Touring Rack: A revolutionary 

new touring rack idea from NSI/Colortran, the QTP series of 

48- or 96 dimmer racks offers fully convertible and reconfigurable 

output load panels, allowing you to convert quickly and easily 

from multipin to stagepin or edison outputs, using a patented 

system of load output panels. Each 24-circuit load output panel is held in place with four screws. 

Simply remove the screws, replace the panels, and you’re done. All load circuits terminate

dimmer rack from Colortran houses up to 

48 dual dimmer modules, and provides 

high-performance dimming with advanced 

feedback functions. All rack configuration 

data is stored in the rack electronics, so 

changing control modules does not require 

any reprogramming. The hand-held terminal 

provides feedback control and monitoring 

at each rack, or remotely, so that 

dimmer feedback, system configuration, 

and dimmer operating parameters can be 

monitored from the Handheld Terminal, an 

on-line PC, or from remote video stations 

on the ColorNet network. System parameters 

such as backup looks and control 

signal remapping may be programmed 

from the Terminal or a PC, and built-in 

panic function for each dimmer allows dimmer

IPS Dimmer Strip: Compact IGBT component technology 

and no requirement for heavy, cumbersome chokes allow 

for a compact dimmer strip package that can be ceiling or 

pipe-mounted in a variety of ways. The DS-1206 (shown at 

right), containing six 10-amp circuits, and the DS-2403, with 

three 20-amp circuits offer you a cost-effective alternative 

to standard forward phase control dimming. Relying upon a 

single 120/208V 3-phase power feed using only five wires, 

the requirements for load wiring are greatly reduced, making 

this an ideal consideration for both new installations and 

system renovations. Reduced wiring requirements means 

lower up-front installation costs in wiring, conduit, and terminations. 

In addition, all IPS dimmers feature dimmer status 

reporting through IPS Talkback, allowing the user to monitor 

dimmer load, temperature, and other status information at a 

glance. Full talkback features are supported by the PC-based 

Horizon Control System, or other control consoles in conjunction 

with IPS Talkback status-monitoring accessories. 

IPS Dimmers from Rosco/Entertainment Technologies 

represent the latest in electronic dimming and package design, 

using new IGBT component technology to accomplish highly 

intelligent, reverse phase-controlled dimming schemes without 

the need for heavy chokes. Rosco/ET offers a complete line of 

IPS dimmer strips, boxes, and single dimmer packs, as well as 

a full range of architectural controls, complemented by the PCbased

IPS Dimmer Box: Also available in either 3 x 20-amp 

or 6 x 10-amp dimmer configurations, the IPS-DB is a 

slightly different, more compact IPS dimmer package, 

easily tucked away among scenery elements, or on a 

lighting grid. 

What is IPS? IPS is distributed dimming based on IGBT (Insulated Gate BiPolar Transistor) technology. The acronym 

IPS means Intelligent Power System®. "Intelligent" because a microprocessor is at the heart of each IPS dimmer. This 

microprocessor "intelligence" enables an IPS dimming system to: 

1. Sense and automatically respond to changes in incoming power, load size, load type, load condition and temperature. 

2. Sense and diagnose problems, then report findings to the system operator. 

3. Run quieter and more efficiently than any competing dimmer technology. 

Most competing dimming equipment is based on SCR (Silicon Controlled Rectifier) technology. The major flaw of SCR dimming is noise, 

which manifests itself as buzzing of lamp filaments, RFI/EMI (interference with sound and video gear), mechanical noise (dimmer 

buzzing & fan noise), or harmonic noise (buzzing of conduit and panels). 

SCR dimmers must be filtered by external chokes to control the noise they generate. To an extent, SCR dimmers must also be isolated... 

far away from people, microphones and video gear. 

Silent IGBT dimmer technology, on which IPS is based, provides a new and better solution.

fits in a standard 2g. backbox, and is topology 

independent using any 4-wire #22awg wiring. The 

808CP (at left, bottom) has 8 faders for manual 

control over 8 zones, and separate on/off buttons. 

404CP, 408 CP, and 804CP versions are 

also available. 

Use the Lumanet controls in conjunction with the 2408CD dimmer pack (above), and 

you’ve got a perfectly matched system. The 2408CD is UL-Listed, with eight 20-amp dimmers 

and 450 microsecond chokes, and is ideal for small theatres and churches. The 2408CD is also 

available as a 2408CR version, offering solid state relay switching for non-dimmable loads. Both 

models accept Lumanet, Microplex, and DMX control signals standard. 

Unison dimming from ETC: Flexible, modular dimming for architectural

Interface Equipment translates control signals between devices using different control protocols. With the wide

I/F 501 Interface: Manufactured by NSI, this handy little device 

functions as a control interface, accommodating DMX, AMX, Microplex, 

Lumanet, analog, serial, and midi inputs, and supplies DMX, Lumanet, and 

Microplex outputs. Required for efficient programming of the NSI Lumanet 

architectural control system, the I/F 501 can also function as a control signal 

merging device, a PC interface using ASCII commands, or even as a selfcontained 

preset storage device.
