is an online marketplace. Founded<br />

in 2014, a group of individuals<br />

passionate towards footwear<br />

created a platform for buying,<br />

selling and trading of shoes. PLUR’s<br />

trading and enables trade on a<br />

local, national and international<br />

basis. Also, PLUR offers a wide<br />

variety of features and services<br />

that enable members to buy and<br />

sell on the site quickly and<br />

While measuring the Internet’s reach is far from an exact science, no<br />

online census reports would dispute claims that hundreds of millions of<br />

individuals across the world are active Internet users (Morgan, J., 2006).<br />

Rapid developments in e-commerce and e-technology have<br />

accelerated intra-business and inter-business online transactions during the<br />

recent years. Given the explosive growth in Internet-based technologies and<br />

e-commerce, a growing number of brick-and-mortar trading activities have<br />

moved to the Internet, and are typically conducted via web-based systems<br />

called e-marketplaces that enable automated transactions and collaboration<br />

between buyers and sellers (Yu, C., 2007). Online markets have<br />

dramatically altered the retail landscape. By eliminating barriers associated<br />

with geography as well as the physical costs of maintaining a storefront,<br />

online markets have created a “democracy” of buyers and sellers (Morgan,<br />

J., 2006).<br />

The online marketplace industry has grown exponentially in the last<br />

few years. In the past, people were hesitant to purchase and trade products<br />

or services online because of security issues. With new strategies like<br />

encryption and other security measures, the industry has boomed and there<br />

are now several household online marketplaces like eBay, Amazon, and in<br />

the Philippines, Sulit.com (now known as OLX.com).

sellers and buyers. Purchasing<br />

and cheaper because<br />

you will be able to look for another<br />

seller easily. This makes PLUR a<br />

great place to sell and browse for<br />

footwear because there will be a<br />

lot of sellers and buyers.<br />

PLUR will make money through<br />

the online advertisements that<br />

companies will pay for. There<br />

will also be a listing fee which<br />

means that it will charge a<br />

small amount to sellers<br />

whenever they post a product,<br />

with more expensive items<br />

having a higher listing fee.<br />

There will also be a final value<br />

fee that will be charged to the<br />

sellers once an item of theirs is<br />

sold. Also, there will be an<br />

escrow service that buyers and<br />

sellers will utilize to prevent<br />

scamming. The escrow service<br />

will charge 1% of the total<br />

value paid by the buyer.<br />

PLUR has large potential and<br />

many opportunities for growth<br />

in the future.

company. PLUR can inaugurate<br />

the idea of a “long tail,” in<br />

Support to nation building<br />

We believe that everyone in the world should have at least one pair of<br />

shoes. There are many people who have multiply pairs of shoes, or even<br />

have collections of very expensive shoes, while there are people that cannot<br />

afford a single pair of shoes. Part of the revenue of PLUR would be<br />

donated to the PLUR foundation, whose goal is to provide footwear for<br />

people who cannot afford any. With the name itself, PLUR promotes<br />

Peace, Love, Unity, and Respect, which is in line with what we Filipino’s<br />

believe in.
