OUR AIMS Our school aims to serve its community by providing an education of the highest quality for children of all faiths and none, within the context of Christian belief and practice. We promote Christian values through the experience we offer to all our pupils and encourage an understanding of the meaning and significance of faith. OUR VALUES • CARING - We strive to provide an environment where each child feels happy, valued and supported. Adults and children care, support and are sensitive to each other so that all are able to live safe, healthy and fulfilling lives that demonstrate care for others and for their world. • CONFIDENCE BUILDING - We aim to develop confident independent learners. We promote challenge through high expectations of learning and behaviour in an environment where children are encouraged and are not afraid to make mistakes. • CREATIVE - We have a strong creative focus within our curriculum, ensuring that learning can excite, inspire and capture children’s imagination. Within this we support their spirituality and reflective skills. • CONTRIBUTION - All members of our school community are valued and recognised. Our Staff We have a highly motivated, committed and talented team of teachers and support staff, who look to bring out the best in every child. Our School We are a 2 form entry voluntary aided church primary school of 420 children. Most of our children live within walking distance of the school. Our school was founded in the 1860s and our building is a skilful blend of old and new with a substantial new area completed in 2000. We have a number of specialist rooms, including a music room, a pupil kitchen and ICT suite. We are five minutes walk from Dorking High Street yet our extensive grounds adjoin the Glory Woods. We have the feel of a village school in the heart of a town. 1
