FALL SPORTS REVIEW<br />

Football<br />

Under the coaching strategy of Keith Wakefield, the Fighting Irish took to the turf with optimism. Seniors Jarin Bryant and Eddie Williams<br />

led the team with over 1,000 combined yards rushing despite Eddie Williams missing 2 weeks with an injury. The Irish defeated Ravenna,<br />

Painesville Riverside, Columbus <strong>St</strong>. Charles & Cincinnati Roger Bacon. They lost to Garfield, Hoban, Benedictine, Cardinal Mooney and<br />

Walsh, all in hard fought games. In the Riverside game Eddie Williams etched his name into the <strong>St</strong>. V record books with a 262 yard 4 touchdown<br />

performance.<br />

Boys Soccer<br />

They entered tournament play with a 10-3-3 record.<br />

James Oldfield and Larry Sutter were the scoring leaders.<br />

This is a team that is blessed with senior leadership<br />

and outstanding defense. Senior Captains Zach<br />

Neumann, Tom Klein and Dave Dunn provided great<br />

leadership as well as outstanding play on the field. The<br />

J.V. team lost only once and won the tri -county league<br />

tournament. Matt Nixon and Patrick De <strong>St</strong>.Aubin rotated<br />

work as the goal tenders, doing an outstanding job.<br />

Girls Soccer<br />

The girls demonstrated another outstanding year with<br />

only 4 seniors on the squad — Betsy Mason, Michelle<br />

Zrebiec, Jessica Healy and Angela Dilorio. Goaltender<br />

Michelle Zrebiec was outstanding and Senior Jessica<br />

Healy was a stalwart on defense. They had a record of<br />

9-6-2 heading to tournament play. The team was also<br />

selected as academic all American with a team G.P.A.<br />

of over 3.7.<br />
